I opened a bank account here a few months ago. To open an account, you need a smartphone (such as for selfies). You can open an account even if your only proof of address is a care home unlike other banks. However, the lady who served me did not know (as this was not the case 10 years ago). She was saying things using no complex jargon and had an understanding of my hidden disability and was very honest to me and my carers. If I had a loved one in a care home, I would recommend opening a bank accouunt with Barclays anywhere that you are in the country

I'm gonna start my latest bombastic no plastic review by saying barclays have made my life difficult over the simple issue of a card renewal...bloody bank is so corrupted rhemselves you can't get a replace card to pick up in store these times...there always be an England ehhh I'm not so sure if we allow the rodents that own that gaff to have a say in our lives...remember they helped legalise slave trade money arms money drugs money etc...SOOOOOO..3rd of this month I order a new card..to my work cos I have no paper post address...that's no huge drama right...sent to my work...I never got it...so 2 weeks later go in again to see the same staff that i didn't find helpful in any real way...you speak as you find BLATENT...SO SUPPOSED to here this week Friday...dosnt show up...this morning 5am on the way home from work I put some fuel in...my cards declined..can you imagine this....4 attempts that all shot blanks....so lucky fir me I goes in that p station so often they were very understanding an gave me a bly on the promise to return later today an settle that up nice an neatly...so I wait up till 9.30 bank open time...I did see one woman from before who I just straight up jngnored cos she's paid money to help Batclays customers an I'm still no closer to my new card.. I choose to speak with a chap called Franklyn ...this chap dealt with me twice an ensured i at least could withdraw a few sheckles to go buy some crack an go see my ALL time favourite nitty slosher I like to see when I've got alot on my mind....OK that part of my review wasn't the whole truth..to the best of my memory the crack an nitty slosher part of made up..obviously by zionist homosexual tall cowardly worm types...haha...I put that in for my review fans...I only play to my own crowd..its the route to stardom....anyways the man didn't let me leave store unhappy with the usual bit shabby service...NO Franklyn went out his way to ensure I left with what I needed..respects to that ehhhh rude boy....let's see if my new card comes through this time.....keep it real keep it b......peace out or ww3 out....

Rarely visit this branch as have had problems with the atm's paying in cash which always fail! One 'floorwalker' and one counter staff working at a busy lunchtime which for many who work in the area is their only chance to do banking. Appalling customer service and cannot even address simple queries constantly directing customers to the atm of which only one out of three was working

Closed almost all the branches but will only let you do certain things at a branch. Those that exist are hardly open or staffed and appointments seem to be rare as hen's teeth.

Simple tasks are too hard for the staff here. Partner came in to get a closing statement for his help to buy isa, they told him the complete wring info and instead thought it was a monthly statement. Strangest part was she wrote it down on paper, instead of actually doing anything. End you ringing barclays as the statement never came, turns out the branch staff have done it wrong, they are supposed to transfer the funds and request the closing statement and shut the account. So we now have to take a day off work again, to go back to this branch as it can only be done in branch, and tell them how to do their job. Even the woman on the phone told us to have a go at them for being useless.I'm in the process of buying a house, I don't have really have time for lazy staff who can't do their job. It's quite important for us to get this. With this service they shouldn't even be paid.

Having returned to the UK after living in Europe for 20 years I didn't have a particular view regarding Barclays service in their Branches. Using the online service was frequently a matter of ensuring I didn't make an error because it would cancel my card at the drop of a hat. Unblocking it meant spending hours (the last wait was 37 minutes) on the phone and then trying to wade through the heavy accent of the person dealing with the problem. I have to say that this situation has recently improved. What I was not prepared for was the attitude to customers of the individual I was confronted with at Grimsby. While waiting we read the postersinforming us that all the changes being made to the service were for our benefit. I doubt if anyone living in Louth would be convinced of this after the branch was closed recently. My wife and I watched and listened to the manner and arrogance of this person in disbelief. He obviously relished sending each client on their way as quickly as possible. In fact the previous three customers all left the counter shaking their heads. Our turn came and we explained that we needed to change our address which could only be achieved by telephone or by visiting a branch. We explained that we did not have sufficient high level security information and were advised to visit abranch. He either did not believe us or thought we were non compos mentis. He insisted that we could use the telephone service but when I asked him to actually listen to what I was saying he offered that we could deal with it in the branch but would have to wait for at least an hour. I have banked with Barclays since I was 17 when my employer insisted on paying my wages into it. My last dealing with a branch was in 2014 and was a fairly reasonable experience. This last experience has made me decide to take my business and savings elsewhere, probably First Direct who apparently treat their customers as humans rather than a piece of something disgusting stuck to your shoe. I have decided to visit the Horncastle branch to see if we can have a better experience. If not, First Direct will be getting a new customer.Horncastle proved to be the total opposite in terms of the welcome, efficiency and friendly ambience provided by the two lady cashiers. We succeeded in completing all the necessary steps in 5 minutes and at the same time chatted with the staff and other customers. Perhaps it is a different bank. It certainly felt it was.I wonder if these reviews are ever read by senior managers. If I read the reviews on here I would be very worried about my future.

Worst bank iv ever been in, carnt pay cash (notes )over the counter, approached by 2 different staff trying to get me to use machine so why didn't they say this? Staff member then went behind the counter to obviously talk about me not wanting to use machine so when it was my turn he refused to pay the cash in for me! What a joke of a bank, rude, condescending staff

My mum is a 40 years customer at this bank and she visited this morning very upset! A member on staff floor cannot remember his name belittled her in front over others. She came in to pay her gas and electricity bill and has a card she always used for years to be told by this disgusting member of staff "we don't do them no more" rudely he then asked for her ID which she left at home by accident and still rudely saying "cannot serve you without ID" he asked if she has a car and at that time is was with her husband who is at work and asked why that she walked sounding like it's a crime to walk into town. After a few more remarks he shouts out "well you have another account with Halifax" which is none of their business and my mum had tell this man that is personal account of being a executor of will over her mum's death. I know who he is and if any of the staff is reading this I will point him out he is power crazy. And with that you have lost a customer of 30 years and lost me aswell.
