In 48 years that I have been with my husband and him purchasing always 2 pairs of glasses has never been treated and spoken to in the horrendous way that the Manager dealt with him today. My husband always has to have a full frame and thinned out lenses due to his eye sight. On receiving his glasses today the lenses had not been thinned out and hung over the frames. The very unpleasant and rude Manager proceeded to inform him they were right. Never ever has this been the case with previous glasses from his regular optician. The next problem was his reading glasses that he was unable to see or read anything with them. On contacting the store and finally getting someone to answer after 12 attempts the rude extremely unprofessional Manager spoke to myself. The Manager then informed me that my husband would have to have another eye test and if the results were the same she would have to refer him to the hospital for investigation. Never in the whole of his life that he has worn glasses has he been referred. The Manager also stated that there could be an underlying problem.I informed her that it is only 12 days since his eye test with them. So why was nothing picked up then. In my opinion I feel that the wrong lenses have been fitted and was told by the Manager that they have quality control on all the glasses.( REALLY! )The Managers attitude and manner by the way I was spoken over all the time was disrespectful and rude. I have therefore requested a full refund on both pairs and booked with his optician that he has been with all his life.I was also informed by the Manager that she had been on many occasions various courses and that I shouldn?t question her knowledge. I did however advise her to go on another course to learn how to speak politely and professionally to customers. I will never use Asda Options again and request that they do the job properly and not refer people to an over stretched NHS due to their negligence and incompetence.

Went into Asda opticians today to get help for a problem created by my husband and I that had caused the glasses to fall apart. Completely our fault and my husband went in looking like Jack Duckworth off coronation Street there was so much tape holding his glasses together. Graham and Jill were so friendly and helpful. Graham managed to repair the glasses totally and when my husband said he?d got the same problem with another pair they repaired them also. Completely free of charge. We?ve been using. Asda opticians for years now and have found you can?t beat them for price, service or friendliness.

Can I just say how amazing the staff are at this grimsby store especially i think her name was louise., I went there this morning and they managed to sort a problem that I had with another optical company so I could get the glassess I had chosen from this store. Asda should be so proud to have the team they have here.

My wife got her glasses from Asda Grimsby, having brought in a prescription from another opticians, no problem. Picked her glasses and waited for them to arrive.Having got them we went around the store and she said she couldn't read the labels on products properly it was distorted, we went back to the dispensing lady who told her to go home and try them the next day. Still the same.We went back and this time she saw the optical manager who at first seemed to not believe she could read in them properly, which made my wife feel uncomfortable/ angry and upset all at the same time. Eventually having looked at them more closely manager agreed there was a problem. Also, wife said the glasses were not the ones she chose they were a lot darker frames, she was told because they were marbled she wouldn't get the exact ones, had she known this she would not have picked them, she specifically chose those ones because they were quite pale for her pale skin and very fair hair, she now has a pair that are quite dark, and Asda will not entertain changing them.Wife received a phone call from Asda to say her glasses were ready, but she wasn't quick enough to get to the phone and they left a voice mail for her to call back. She did, but no one answered, left a message because they said they would get back, no one has got back. So, we tried ringing, from 11.00 am to 6.30pm when they close - it just goes to answer phone. When I sat waiting for her while she was seeing the optical manager the phone kept ringing and the staff ignored it, choosing to just stand talking to each other and ignore the phone.Confidence in Asda opticians to say the least it at absolute zero. And, if you reply Asda don't say put a post on twitter/facebook because we are not on social media.

The opticians are pretty good, although you are unlikely to see the same one twice, of course. Some of the other staff are extremely rude. The glasses are among the cheapest you'll find outside the internet, although that also applies to the quality in many cases. The choice is less impressive than elsewhere. One notable plus point is that for higher prescriptions, thinner lenses are included as standard. If you buy one or more pairs (of course the prices are framed to encourage you to buy two), expect quite a wait for them.If your glasses develop a fault, don't expect them to honour their legal obligations, or even to be remotely interested. They know every line you can think of to fob you off, and a few that you can't think of.If you are still going to book an appointment after reading this, a further word of warning; you'll be waiting around 2 months before they will see you!Very average all considered, but it's Asda after all. I would give 2.5/5 (5/10), but since that can't be done, it's 2/5 as they aren't worth 3/5.

I cannot fault the service. Staff are friendly, professional and helpful every time I?ve been in. Prices are good compared to some places. My partner has now moved over and again has nothing but good words to say ?

I recently visited the Asda Opticians in Grimsby with an outside prescription that had a problem, the staff at the opticians were very helpful and sorted it ,and even gave me another eye test. The optician was very good and explained everything to me . All staff there were very professional, kind , caring and understanding, I recommend this opticians and will use them all the time in the future. Well done to all of the staff there and THANKYOU.

The eye test I had was excellent. However I have had nothing but trouble with the glasses. Screws coming out and lenses falling out. Today I took 3 pairs to be checked over, screws tightened and glued into place. When I got home I found nothing had been done! Now I have got to do a 30 mile round trip to call and get done what should have been done in the first place. Never had these issues when I went to a private opticians!
