Good value for money!
Basic rooms but they everything you need for a good night of sleep

If I'm honest, it's just a typical travel lodge. The room was clean, and the staff were pleasant on arrival. Night reception could do with making the effort, though. The only issue we had was getting back in to the hotel on our return from our night out. We returned at 3am. to find the A1 had been totally blocked off from one junction to another. We were unable to turn on to the road to access the hotel. We had to drive 20 mins out of our way in the dead of night only to arrive at another blocked entrance. Eventually, we had to get an escort to the hotel of f highway maintenance. There were no warnings at the hotel, nor outside of the hotel, to say access would be restricted. There was no warning on the website. Needless to say, after 6 hours in a cold prison, we weren't best pleased. There are only 2 pillows on the bed, and there are no extras in the room to use. We got up after 4 hours sleep and left. There are no teabags in the room either and one sugar packet. But we were given more when we asked at reception.

Very complicated to reach once it's dawn. Especially when coming on the wrong side of the highway. Almost dangerous with all the trucks driving like mad.

The bed kingsize bed was terrible, hard as a board.
I stayed for 2 nights and both nights I had to get up and sit in one of the chairs and take painkillers to help me sleep.
My back and hips hurt from the bed being so hard.
There was long cob webs hanging from the ceiling.
The only good thing is they accept dogs.
If I was to stay again, I would take my blow up bed for some comfort.

We had booked the wrong date by mistake, and after a long journey it was the last thing we wanted to hear, but two wonderfull staff Lisa and Ashley, sorted
out transferring the date, and booked a room for that night, and they were such a help, and are a credit to your company, we'll done ladies

This is not the best travelodge we have used. It desperately needs an upgrade, especially the bathroom. On a positive note, the staff were very helpful.

It was dark when we arrived but couldn't find the Travelodge as it was behind Starbucks and car sales off A1 all because Gantry light was not on, so we kept driving up and A1 and back roads. Eventually got to our destination by chance sat nav going crazy. By that time we were so tired booked in to find booked for following week, we had to pay a premium to get it changed but the receptionist Ashleigh and Lisa were so patience in sorting it all out with the made our stay a good one. King-size bed plenty of hot water
