Really disappointed with my haircut. I wish auk hair never left, I wasn?t informed when booking my appointment that house of hair had taken over. So when I turned up I was surprised to see new staff etc. However, I thought to still go ahead with my haircut, as all I wanted was a trim and face reshaping. The lady cutting my hair started cutting before even asking me what I wanted and cut off more than I wanted. At first I thought I liked it (ish). However, when I got home and had a proper look one side of my hair is a different length to the other side. It looks awful and I?m now having to put my hair up every day until it grows out. Definitely don?t recommend.

it is appalling ,, my cousin had her hair cut here and she has come out of the hairdressers with un even hair. The woman cut her hair when it was wet then dried it then cut it again then straightened it and cut it again. This has caused her hair to look nothing but uneven. I am never going here even if it was the last hairdressers on earth!!!

If I could give 0 stars, I would, but Google won't let me. So 1 star it is. Singularly the worst experience I have ever had when getting my haircut. I am ordinarily filled with such trepidation before entering Hairdressers since previous experiences have left me with a phobia and looking like Krusty, the clown from the Simpsons.I initially had to wait before my appointment sending my phobia of hairdressers into hyperdrive. I was not asked if someone could take my coat. And then, hurriedly and only after getting into the chair to wash my hair, was I offered a cape as protection from the hair clippings. Before washing my hair, there was a short discussion about how I wanted the outcome to look. I had said I wanted a bob length to my chin with some layers to come through it. To give the overall look of some shape and style. I knew my hair was thick, and even mentioned by the hairdresser. I thought this hairstyle would be for the best since this has been tried and tested.As the appointment progressed, it was clear that the person cutting my hair had no idea of the nuances involved with cutting curly hair. She then proceeded to hack into my hair. Doing what made her comfortable without asking whether I wanted it to remain curly or straight, she proceeded to straighten my hair. She started straightening my hair, advising me to add heat protection before drying my hair. After she had straightened it, she continued to attempt to put in layers; however these were not sufficient for my thick curly hair. She has woefully failed to create shape and style within my haircut. She wanted was me out of her chair as soon as possible, because of her complete lack of experience in dealing with hair like mine. I do not have the haircut I wanted. My hair length is at the level of my ears and virtually all the same length.Quite frankly the whole experience was extremely traumatising. I believe I could?ve done a better job with a bowl and a pair of hedge trimmers. A word of warning to those wishing to get their haircut here. I would avoid if you have thick curly hair since the hairdressers here have no clue as to how to deal with your hair. The most galling thing of this whole experience is I?ve had to pay £40 for another Krusty the Clown look.Service: Hairstyling

Mel and her assistant, Wendy, were wonderful! I visit Grantham at least once a year. This time my visit was quite a bit longer than normal, and I needed my hair colored. I was a bit nervous as I have used the same girl back home for 20 years. I cannot speak highly enough about Mel and her salon. Wish I lived closer.
