Traditional inn at South Witham. Affordable family room for 4 people, I ate the delicious dinner and English breakfast, overall is valuable.Rooms: One double bed and 2 single beds, single toilet with bath tub. Tv, kettle and hairdryer included, but no refrigerator.Nearby activities: The Wymondham Windmill is nearby within 10 minutes drive, and go to Rutland Water around 20 minutes.Food & drinks: A warm and comfortable family pub, separated meal area is great idea. Young waitress is friendly and kindly. Food is coming hot and delicious, I ordered rump steak, lasagne, beef pie and sharing platter; rump steak is juicy and soft, homemade beef pie with fully meat and sauce, the crispy sharing platter includes 6 kind of food!

The Blue Cow was a 4 Star experience rather than 4 Star accomodation. Check in at the bar was quick, friendly, and simple, even at around 10pm. Our room was very basic but clean and ideal for our one night stop. The accomodation is above the pub but the noise was not excessive and last rounds were at 11pm.A full English breakfast was included and served with a smile shortly after we were seated at 7:30am. We'll definitely stay here again next time we need a stop over in the area.

You seek and you shall find! It is what it is, nothing here is trying to be anything but a classic basic pub that does grub. Ale was very good. Plenty food on the plate, quite enjoyable.

We saw the sign from the A1 when we wanted some dinner. A very friendly young man served us and was very helpful in making us a special drink. The Turkey and Ham pie was delicious and chock full of meat.

Very well situated if travelling on A1 ,a genuine timbered old fashioned building with quirky features. Set in quiet village a mile from A1

Stayed as an overnight stay in our Motorhome. Found the barman to be very friendly . We ordered the steak and a lasagne, well presented and good value for money.Ordered breakfast the next morning , we had fresh orange juice on the table waiting for us . Full English Breakfast was lovely and proper cafetiere coffee just made perfect. The barman gave us a history of the pub that had been built in the 1200s .We loved the place. A good old fashioned pub with a great atmosphere.Perfect motorhome stop over if your in the area.
