I took my elderly mum here for the first time, 25.08.25, as her eyesight had been getting worse over the last 6 months.. She was in a wheelchair and everyone was just so kind and considerate towards her. Due to her medical condition, it was more difficult to take scans of her eyes, but they did not rush us, all the time engaging and explaining to my mum what was happening. The optician herself was incredible. My mum had been having hallucinations / seeing things, and Hannah explained to her this was a well-known issue, called Charles Bonnet syndrome (CBS) which is a condition that causes people with sight loss to experience visual hallucinations. It's a common condition that can affect anyone with deteriorating vision and is more prevalent in older people. It also turned out my mum had a hole in the retina and has been referred for treatment. Just to know that she isn't going mad has been more of a relief to her than anything. I want to sincerely thank Hannah and all the staff at Specsavers for their friendly, professional, outstanding service. We will definitely be back once she has received treatment. Thank you so much.

I called in at Specsavers at Marshall's Yard in Gainsborough suffering with pain in my eye. It was a drop in appointment but I was seen immediately.
I was given a thorough eye health check and lots of advice for which I was very grateful.
The staff were all wonderful and I felt genuinely cared for. Thank you to everyone there.

Recently went for a Contact lenses checkup and was told my prescription had changed I got a second opinion from Vision express who told me my prescription had not changed and my eyes were fine. If you want your eyes looking after then go to vision express as they seem to know alot more about your eyes health.

Gainsborough is not my usual branch but they were so helpful when I went in last week without an appointment after suffering a corneal abrasion. They fitted me in between patients and were all so caring and helpful. Thank you to the optician John Hunter Musson and the lovely lady I saw on reception. Sorry I did not catch her name. You are a credit to your employer.

I have been a glasses and contact lenses wearer for 35 years, and during that time I have used many opticians, including other branches of Specsavers. This particular branch are excellent. I have had a few complicated issues with my eyes in the past 6 years, and have found the staff extremely helpful and knowledgable.

Needed forms filling in for DVLA, the owner and staff very very friendly and helpfull, eyes tested forms completed explained everything so I understood everything, great experience from start to finish
