I've been a satisfied customer of Screwfix for years, but my recent experience wasn't great.On previous visits, my address was always discreetly confirmed with just the postcode and now and again my house number.. but during my latest visit, my full address was unnecessarily shouted out !? I immediately expressed my discomfort. I was told it?s policy to confirm your address. Yeah of course that is understandable I have been going here for years, but there's no requirement to shout it.. and he did not understand that?s why I was annoyed with him, the fact he shouted it, not the fact it?s policy. There was no apology, the interaction felt defensive and so I left.This is my first negative experience at Gainsborough Screw-fix. All the other staff are spot on, helpful and discreet when it comes to personal information can?t fault them.Didn?t get this persons name, never seen him before today but I?ll try and avoid him the next time I visit ! On a serious note I value my privacy like most people and I hope Screw-fix can reconsider their approach to maintain the discretion they've demonstrated in the past.

Turned up at 5:55 (hadn?t realised they closed at 6) the two chaps on the desk worked to get me the screws I needed and despite the time we?re curtious and helpful. Thank you so much and sorry for coming so late in the day

Superb customer service this morning from Gainsborough branch staff. Had a broken down Dremel, total new for old swop and refund on router bit stuck. Can't give you guys enough praise. Will continue to shop with 100% confidence.
