The atmosphere was very friendly especially as a family. The service was top notch. But food could be a little better especially for the price we pay saying that overall not a bad place

Staff are so rude.
Twice now we have just showed up, absolutely no issue with them being booked, we do often book, and have had an alright meal, but the last few times were show up without booking has put me of for future bookings. Have since cancelled plans for family birthday meal here. Each time they are rude. All they would have to say is sorry we are fully booked, instead of rude crappy replies.
Food is hit and miss. But previously the atmosphere and staff made the place worth it. This is not the case and just shocking level of rude throughout my visits on multiple occasions, even when we have booked

No longer value for money unfortunately. Was shocked to pay nearly £80 for 3 mains and 5 drinks. Tom and the team do a great job, but looks like Marston's getting a bit greedy. Paying that kind of money, prefer Smiths which when visited a week later was cheaper!

The staff are always friendly and helpful here. The food is good 'pub grub'. I've ordered a steak a couple of times and they've been quite undercooked sometimes, that's the only thing I can say though. On the whole, the Sugar Mill is a lovely place for a lovely meal.

Vegetarian options: 3 guests were vegans but happy. Vegetarian were very happy and liked both choices.
Kid-friendliness: The playground was a great attraction once he had finished eating/

First time having Sunday Lunch.
Overall it was OK, might seem petty but of 5 of us only 2 plates had pig in blanket. We also ordered the 5 extra. Disappointed ? bought to attention of server but no response!!
Perhaps our server was not feeling well ,but a very underwhelming unfriendly experience which is a shame as come here regularly.
Parking: Parking ok but gets very busy with people making own parking spaces where there aren't any !

Was our first time here for Sunday lunch today, we were made to feel very welcome from the time we stepped through the door. The pub has a light airy feel and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. We were served quickly and the food was excellent. The staff were friendly and polite.
We will certainly be returning very soon.
