Very rude landlady. Actually got barred for going to the lavatory with my daughter in law and got accused of taking drugs. Wouldn?t step foot in that place if it was the last standing bar on earth.

Tried to buy some drinks for my friends and a water for myself but they refused as they said I wasn?t a customer, clearly I was as I was buying the other drinks. They were rude, offensive. Stay away!!

I'm banned from this place but from NOWHERE else in Boston! A friend thinks it's because I look like a local trouble causer but they are resolute that I'm banned. It's no great shakes, the beer isn't that great and the atmosphere isn't that great most of the time. So thank you Stump & Candle, at least my girlfriend can't drag me in your very average pub anymore, phew. ?

What can I say?it?s the first time in 35 years that I?ve visited Boston. The first time was business and this time pleasure. Having had an overpriced second rate diner at the white hart hotel where I?m staying with my son we decided to visit the Stump and Candle, a local pub that has live music. The doormen couldn?t have been more friendly as were the bar staff. After ordering a large G and T along with a pint of lager and about to take a sip, the landlord asked my son to remove his hat. Now, if you?ve ever visited this faded yet historic town you?ll soon be aware that paying customers is what the area needs. Now I?m 70 years old and couldn?t believe I was aLao asked the remove my discrete yet stylish linen cap as if I were some kind of threat to the security of this poorly attended hostilry. In short the manager?and I use this term loosely, is a complete arsetwunt who isn?t fit to preside over the running of the mini bar in his own house.

To whom it may concern. What planet was you on when you decided that you?d encourage a dress code in the middle of summer that limits people wearing shorts. I?m sure if I was a they/them, or a she/it you?d have encouraged entry. The sooner this place goes bust, and is owned by a sound mind that wants the business to succeed the better.

I come in last week on my own and the landlady was so rude to me all I asked was for was a Pepsi they got funny because I didn't order alcohol and I'm disabled got inappropriate behaviour towards me its made my mental health bad and I cant express to you how disgusted and upset I am.

I came in to you pub and got kicked out because im disabled im so upset on the experience i won't ever go there again plus my freind got kicked out because of the colour of her skin and they don't even deserve one star disgusting behavior im ashamed of this racist behaviour i will be seeking legal advice.

If I could give this zero stars I would . Came in here with a group (8 of us) who all bought drinks and myself was not drinking but driving. The bartender told me to come to the bar and have to buy a purchased drink. I do not drink fizzy drinks and only water. I asked for a water and he refused. First he told me it was the councils policy then told me it was the landlords policy. Find this very odd and would not be coming again.
