Last year I ate here, they told me it was a nut free place.
To my disappointment, after ordering scampi or squid; can?t fully remember, it turns out I had a very heavy allergic reaction with left me throwing up 11+ times. If it were my brother who?s more allergic, it would?ve killed him.
Very poor awareness from the chef and servicing people.
Should have, and wish I sued this place for hiding the fact they could have killed me.
No accountability at all. Pretty sure we got food standards to check them out and they got a poor score as deserved.
If you have an allergy I beg you to not come. Very high chance you?ll end up in hospital.
In response to your reply, youre telling me my allergic reaction came out of nowhere. Something I?ve known the exact same feeling of for the past decade and a half, yeah sure.
I seriously urge people with medium-high reaction allergies to avoid this place. The fact they are doubling down on ?no nuts? despite ruining my weekend is crazy. You want to talk back to me about accountability, the chef would be jailed or sued or whatever if it had been my brother with his allergy, and here you are talking to me about accountability and u did all you could. Clearly not. I had a reaction to nuts, in a nut free area. Basically DO NOT EAT HERE!

Great place, great decoration, and fabulous desserts. Cake and hot chocolate was brilliant, though it did take a while for the hot chocolate to come. I was in when it was quiet, dont know how it is on a busy matchday. But overall in my opinion, it is a good experience, atleast for me.

Staff are fantastic, really friendly. You can relax here and not feel rushed to finish your meal. Portion sizes are large. Loved the goats cheese starters.

The food was superb! Darn good portion sizes too. My family of 4 left with full bellies and a brilliant dining experience.

Nothing but good reports about this place. Nice parties where the staff are brilliant. I can verify the Guinness is top notch. Well worth a visit

Went yesterday for the first time. Bonus to find out my meal was free as it was my birthday. Couldn?t fault the staff all very friendly and very accommodating to my little grandson. Nothing appeared too much trouble . Food was also excellent. Could not fault a thing, will definitely return again x

Popped in today for a lovely cup of coffee and a very tasty bacon and sausage bap for me and a bacon bap for my partner. Very nice atmosphere and extremely friendly staff. Will be back again.

Not really a restaurant but a separate area within the bar area. Restaurant prices but yet the same meals available through all areas. We went on a September Saturday evening but no one else in the so called restaurant and it appeared very overstaffed and the whole place lacked atmosphere . We appreciate ellenders form part of a football stadium but restaurants are normally cosy with some atmosphere and not located to give sight of three full screen televisions !.That said the food was reasonable but due to atmosphere and surroundings we would not return.

!!BEWARE!!
If your family has an allergy, do NOT go here.
Our youngest son has a nut allergy. Our other son is anaphylactic. Fortunately, our eldest son wasn?t with us otherwise he?d probably be dead.
Despite knowing our son?s allergy, Ellenders served him food with extremely strong nut contaminants.
He had two mouthfuls and immediately felt his reaction start.
We called over the waiter who was adamant they had not served any nuts (maybe our son imagined the reaction!)
It felt like they weren?t bothered and were instead more interested in sweeping it under the carpet and wanted to blame their Suppliers (clearly they don?t understand accountability associated with serving food).
Our son vomited violently - 11 times.
The next day I rang to ask what they had done about the menu. Firstly, the supervisor knew NOTHING about the incident. Secondly, they had removed NOTHING from the menu. Thirdly, the supervisor said they ?didn't read the news and knew nothing about the current media reporting widespread issues with sauces (see Dominos)?
Good to see they look outward when it comes to being appraised of food issues on the public domain!
The head chef said he?d call me back with findings from speaking to his suppliers. He never called back.
Appalling service and care toward their customers with allergies.
So, as I say, if you love your family and want them to stay alive (and they have an allergy) don?t go to Ellenders. They don?t give a jot.

I must admit I was very pleased with the food and the place itself...second visit and there has been alot of improvement. Service was ok and I had the ploughman's and it was really nice. Highly recommended.
