Nice pub, the new manager had just taken over when we visited so there was no food available. Will go back and sample the food at some stage.

Vast improvement. Makes a huge difference when a landlord and especially brewery start to care about customers!!

Despite saying it was open on the website and google maps, it was closed. No sign suggesting otherwise, apart under new management!!

Lovely traditional pub, beer garden and plenty of parking space...?

What a lovely Sunday lunch for Mothers Day. We all had beef, which was delicious and the same goes for the Yorkshire pudding and veg. Bread and butter pudding was light and fluffy and the overall experience was really good. Could have done with some quiet background music, but that?s purely my opinion. Will go back for more.

We decided to give this place a go now the pub has new management. We arrived at 12.20 roughly to find doors closed and lights out . We about turned to go to car park only to be called back by a lad in a wooly hat to say they were open. On entry we asked him about menu for food , he told us there was no food today , about turn again to be chased again hold on the chef's turned up . We decided we would give them a chance. We went back and ordered a drink , was asked if my wife wanted to drink a J20 orange out of the bottle , she is 67 , the pub was cold but I agree the weather has been terrible . Must admit the food was ok but £10.95 for a sandwich with a few chips little overpriced. I wish the couple all the best but I will not be back.

Not good. Polite staff but seating area cold, loud dance music from kitchen throughout, had to ask for menu and twice for bill, parsnip uncooked in centre, some veg cold, extremely dry chicken - overcooked, Yorkshire puddings dense, and when ordered vegetarian burger was served chicken and sent back - awful mistake for them to make. Under new manage but doing badly. Will not come back.

Just been taken over by a lovely couple about 2 weeks ago. Lovely old listed building with loads of character, a cracking atmosphere and friendly staff. Food is really good with daily 2 for 1 offers.

Not impressed. 6 of us went for a birthday lunch, no starter, no desert and small portions at large portion prices. The roast chicken was more like chicken breast and the beef over cooked, the steak burgers weren't steak, more cheap lookalikes. The fire couldn't be fired up so the bar was cold. On a positive note, the guiness was well served!

New management. Great turnaround from the past. Great fresh cooked food (not ping meals). Friendly staff and great atmosphere.

Visit was impromptu, young lady staff very friendly and professional, lovely old pub, locals friendly and welcoming, food not tried. Will revisit.

Just been for ?Sunday Lunch? and definitely my last from here! Bar service was fine, the food which took 35 mins to reach the table was terrible, Roast Beef was tough and unable to cut with the knives provided, the Salt & Pepper Chicken had never seen Salt & Pepper and wasn?t very appetising. We were informed that they had run out of Cauliflower Cheese and they would give us Pigs in Blankets as a ?replacement?, these came out before the main meal, 4 x full sausages per person! wrapped in greasy fatty white bacon that looked like they had been threatened with the oven/pan! I asked for these to be removed from the table as the fatty smell was not nice. The vegetables that we did get were fine and the best part of the meal, needless to say, we didn?t stay for dessert.
The tables require a proper clean, as they were so sticky, even the waitresses had to peel the placemats off the table, in fact, the whole place could do with a clean!
There?s plenty of parking and I?m not surprised.
