We are staying in Baston Fen for a week on a near by camp site and wanted somewhere for Sunday lunch. After reading the reviews on google decided to give the Black Horse a try. It didn?t disappoint, the carvery was second to none and as for the staff very attentive and helpful. Wish we lived nearer as this would be our choice every time.

Food was amazing we had Dinner and breakfast. The service was great. The rooms were clean. We will definitely going back again recommend to anyone.

Absolutely outstanding customer service from Sophie. First visit as we are moving to the village and Sophie made us so welcome. So friendly and helpful why would anyone look elsewhere? Looking forward to becoming a regular. Great facilities for events and still retain a pub feel. Outside seating at the front and a wonderful beer garden at the rear.

Me and my husband got married at The Black Horse this Thursday and I was blown away by how amazing they made our day for us. From Sophie being the most amazing wedding planner to Fiona decorating our function room to perfection. The bar staff and chefs were also absolutely fantastic and all of our guests completed how lovely the food was.
You all made our dream day a reality and we are so thankful to each and every one of you.
If you are in the area or planning a wedding I would 100 % recommend giving them a visit I promise you won?t regret it.

We came over for the steak night special with my sister n brother in law on their recommendation
Service from Ellie was great
Food was good
But could have been better
Onion rings were lukewarm on delivery to table so very quickly went cold !!!
Plates were cold so the food went cold quick
Presentation was not as good as other nights

Like I said it was luke warm at best and ought to be better
Thanks to Emma for drinks service though

Very disappointing visit for an evening meal for my Dad's birthday Service was slow, they missed a meal off the order, when one of the 5 meals came, a steak order, it was tough & chewy. We did remark on this & a replacement eventually came after a long wait. (Apparently they had a small function on.) But the replacement steak was exactly the same, tough & chewy.
There was no ale only lager, the one beer they had wasn't on.!! Not everyone likes or can drink lager.
The chairs we sat on had no stuffing so my chin wasn't far off the table!!
All in all a very disappointing visit for a local village pub.
Not sure we'll be returning in the near future.

I stayed here for one night on Wednesday. Friendly staff & a lovely location with the bar & restaurant looking very nice. The food was tasty & very good portion sizes. The room was very spacious although there were signs of wear & tear in all of the living areas & a little more attention to cleaning in all the nooks & crannies is needed. Even with two fans, the room was absolutely sweltering all night as it's an old building although I do appreciate that they can't control the weather!

After requesting another room, were given the ?Honeymoon Suite? - nice room but lacking certain amenities.
Food in restaurant was shocking as was the BBQ - I can only guess where the food is sourced but it is most definitely cooked on site from a bulk buy.
Disappointed is an understatement.
If you enjoy a nice break and ?proper? food - do not come here - you?ll be wasting a lot of money.
