The staff were welcoming and efficient, with great knowledge of the menu. The atmosphere was warm and cosy, and the food was beautifully presented, absolutely delicious, and worth the wait.

Oh gosh we loved it. We were on our way home from a children?s party and in desperate need of a roast dinner for us. I called twenty minutes before we were due to arrive to see if there was space for about half two on a Sunday. They confirmed there was space for us and set up the table we needed (highchair) for when we arrived. They were so wonderful and accommodating when we arrived. The food was exceptional and it?s not always easy to take two small children to a place that does food of that quality. Thanks so much for a great Sunday roast and pudding!

Stayed overnight in our Motorhome at the Hope and Anchor in North Ferriby by the Humber and not far from the Humber bridge. Free stopover, just rang and asked. Must be self contained as no amenities after the pub has shut. Nice flat car park and extremely quiet with amazing views. Food a little on the expensive side, but the quality was high. We stayed on a Thursday night which just happened to be Steak night , best steak I have ever tasted.
Friendly staff and lovely pub.
We went for a walk along the river bank and saw the Mary Marie wreck.
Great stopover if your heading along the east coast as we were.

I hate long reviews but I really have to praise the Hope & Anchor. I really don't want to shout about it as it will get even busier and we may struggle to get in, but you MUST visit as NOTHING IS TOO MUCH TROUBLE!!!
We had such a warm welcome, we were shown to our room, an offer of help with our luggage, which was lovely & spacious.
We went straight back down to sit outside and enjoy the weather.
The bar & serving staff were all very cheerful & extremely helpful.
The food was plentiful & tasty.
We had a jug of Pimms which was disappointing as it had been made with water. I should have said something but I just drank it as I felt bad complaining as they were all so nice.
We did seem to have a squeaky bathroom door which did disturb us throughout the night.
The instructions for the coffee machine are step by step, a total idiots guide, and were very welcome.
Breakfast was amazing. Small continental but tasty and enough. The full English was perfect. I always worry about 'snotty' fried eggs but this was cooked to perfection along with the fried bread which was not greasy at all, tasty and fluffy. My husband said that they were the best scrambled eggs he'd ever had. I also thought that I'd miss not having baked beans, I didn't. We did however, miss having toast.
We had a nightmare and missed our train back from Cleethorpes on Saturday. When we finally got back to Barton upon Humber the Ferriby Road was completely closed so an 8 minute journey ended up taking us nearly 40 minutes. When we arrived back the girls asked the chef to hang on for us so we could eat. Above and beyond, everyone. So very lovely. The burnt honey tart is gorgeous, I took some home with me, as well as some home made condiments, £10 for a large jar, £15 for 3 small ones. Evelyn sorted a late check out for us with minimal fuss. We really can not fault this place. Highly recommended ?
We were initially disappointed as we'd had to change our booking date and ended up with a room overlooking the car park (Pudding Pie) instead of the original room that we'd booked (Pebbly Beach) we needn't have been as the room was lovely. We will be back to stay in Pebbly Beach ??
We sat outside for Sunday lunch and had the sharing platter, beef & chicken, it was absolutely amazing, with cauliflower cheese included!!
We then had the cookie dough with Horlicks ice cream....
My only slight bugbear is that I wasn't able to hang my dresses up as the wardrobe was too short and as you aren't able to remove the hangers I had to hang them and leave the doors open.

When the sun is going down this is a great spot to enjoy some food or just a drink out on the terrace. Room was spotless and very comfortable. Service from each member I encountered was excellent, nothing was too much trouble.

Met family for Sunday lunch, we didn't stay so cannot rate rooms.
The staff, from the moment we arrived were attentive, informative, friendly and polite. We ordered the Sunday lunch for two, my sister and her fella getting beef and gammon while we had chicken and beef. Food took a while to arrive, but well worth the wait. We're not talking hours here. Deceptive amount of food for two. Well cooked, I had only the chicken which was juicy and flavourful. The rest of the table raved about the roasties, and the Yorky pud was one of the best I've had. None of us (and there were some big eaters in that table) had room for dessert. Plenty of people leaving/ arriving which always makes me think that a place is worth checking out.
Overall, good food served by lovely staff.
We plan on going back and taking more family with us.

Staff were really lovely. Room wasn?t massive but had everything needed and more. Shower was brilliant and had a lovely view of the river.
