Went for a birthday meal. Stood waiting a while before being shown to table. Had mixed grill and the sirloin steak. Meat was tough and grisly. Pleased we didn't have starters or a sweet. Long while since we had been here , hence it will be a long time again.

I already knew I loved this pub with it's delicious home cooked food, massive portions and lovely staff and environs. But today...oh my goodness....talk about knocking it out of the park.... I didn't want the meal to end! We had the Pan-fried salmon with new potatoes (I swapped mine for dauphinoise), with vegetables and a sea salt and seaweed cream sauce. Wowsers!! It was utterly spectacular.... the salmon was so fresh and tender, the potatoes and veg cooked to perfection and that sauce is something else! It was wonderful.
I urge you to visit and partake of it's delights before the specials board changes.
What a top quality treat on a Thursday lunchtime.

Visited with my partner for afternoon tea, all the food was absolutely delicious and the staff were so polite and attentive. The highlight of the afternoon tea was the mini boar burger and the lovely boozy trifle.
We sat outside as it was such a beautiful day, really lovely garden put the back, very peaceful.
Definitely want to return for a full sized burger now though!

Opted for a takeaway. The person on the phone was very helpful in taking the order.
The food was ready in a timely manner and proved to be great value for money.
A huge burger and wedges for £13. Will definitely be eating from here again, hopefully in the pub next time.

What a fantastic pub this is. Stayed locally in Ropsley and on discovering their many CAMRA awards, booked a table for Saturday night. The weather was great so we sat in the beer garden with our dog. The landlord Phil couldn't have been more friendly or helpful, offering us a tab on arrival and ferrying drinks and food to us. Why can't all pubs be like this?

I don't like writing bad reviews but the experience I had here really soured my day. Last weekend was my mother's birthday, as I don't live around Lincolnshire i looked for places to take her with my family (5 of us in total) I called up and booked on the 30th of June for a table of 5 for 2:30pm. They even took my number.
On the Sunday 6th we arrived at the Green Man at around 2:34pm so around 4mins late. When we arrived the lady at the bar said that our table was not ready yet and if we can wait. We we're a bit annoyed already as I had booked in advanced to avoid this but didn't say anything and waited.
After 10mins or so waiting i noticed that a group of 4 who had just gotten their drinks when we came to the establishment had sat on a table near where we were waiting and on the table was a signage saying RESERVED and had MY NAME on it! So basically they had given our table away but lied to us saying our table wasn't ready. My sister then asked how long it would be and asked if that table was ours pointing at the one with my name and the lady at the bar just nervously and awkwardly said yes.
At this point there was no apology either, admitting to any mistake on their part and just the staff awkwardly looking at us and another table they were hoping would pay and leave so we could finally get seated. At this point it was nearly 3pm so we had waited a good 20mins by this point. With them not owning up to their mistake and leaving a bad taste in my mouth from this lack of transparency we decided to just leave and find somewhere else local. Why did they even bother taking my number if they didn't even try calling if they were going to give our table away when we were just 4 mins late?
We ended up going Fox And Hounds 10mins away and the server there was lovely, accommodating and we had a nice meal for my Mothers 70th Birthday.
