Thanks so much to the team for the quality of the food, especially the gluten free items and wonderful service. We look forward to every Friday when my hubby Lee comes home from work with our tea. It starts our weekend off and we wouldn?t be without you. We?ve enjoyed your food for ten years. You?ve seen our family grow and you even treated our late dog to a sausage when he was at the end of his life. Very special memories! We?ve moved villages now but we will always make the extra miles for the food and service. Thank you team.

We were travelling back from Loughborough, and really fancied some fish & chips, but as I?m coeliac it?s not that easy, so we googled gf fish and chips near us, and Rothley came up. A great find, lovely restaurant, pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable staff, and fantastic fish and chips, and all gluten free. Thank you ? Stan & George ??

Absolutely top-notch! Rothley Fisheries is hands down the best local chippy around. The food is always fresh and full of flavour ? whether it?s their perfectly crispy fish, golden chips, or the tasty extras. The service is just as impressive ? friendly, efficient, and welcoming every time. You can tell they really care about quality and customer satisfaction. A proper gem in the village ? highly recommended!

I feel I need to do an honest and fair review of what used to be the best fish and chip shop in Leicestershire.
We used to come a lot when Mandy had it, weekly visits, I didn?t realise how much it had changed, we visited a year ago and the owner said he was talking it back to when Mandy had it, good size portion of fish and chips, re fills on your chips and curry sauce, a good pot of tea that was always refilled, it really used to be the very best fish and chip shop for miles,
We?ve been back tonight and sadly it has changed a lot, the size of the portion is embarrassing, no regular cod on the menu now, mini cod and chips and a couple of chips at that, no pot of tea, no refills on the curry sauce, and £12.50 for a mini cod and not even a cones worth of chips and no pickles in site or bread and butter. I?m surprised it?s still open. Although I guess getting there at 6 at peak dinner time and not one person in the restaurant kinda gave it away.
Would I go back, No unfortunately not, what once was an incredible fish and chip shop has sadly declined.
On top of that we sat at our old table, table No 7
We had
1 X Mini cod and chips with mushy peas,
1 X Mini cod and chips with curry sauce
1 X portion of chips
1 X battered sausage
2 X cans of Coke
1 X pot of tea
Total £40.40
I go to the counter to pay and I put my bill on the work top and the young lady on the till hands me a card reader I tap my card and ask for a till receipt. I walk away and look at the till receipt and they charged me £54.40.
I went back to speak with the staff to get a refund. I will not be going back. In my opinion if you want the best fish and chips shop go to Anstey to see Gaz at William Walton Traditional Fish And Chips.

really odd place, live stream their staff during their shift, and I commented ?this seems odd? and I got blocked from their account. doesn?t help when they livestream young females working either. Personally wouldn?t be supporting this business.

Food is freshly cooked and delicious. Started coming here because of the gluten free options and now wouldn't go anywhere else!
Staff are always friendly and give quick service, even during very busy periods. Highly recommended
