Amazing dining experience last night! Great staff and service, and the food was truly exceptional - we did the 7 course and wine pairing menu - so worth it and worthy of the Michelin star! We also got some snacks with drinks before seating and petit four before leaving (which they very kindly boxed up for us to take home) Honestly, a great foodie experience to have the sauces poured over at the table and each dish and wine explained regarding flavours to compliment each dish.

Wow! First Michelin experience and John's House did not disappoint!
From the moment we arrived in the car park and welcomed through to the waiting area to leaving, the service really was perfection.
2 options presented to us, either a 5 or 7 course, we opted for the 7. Although there was a lot of food served, it was all absolute perfection and we just couldn't refuse. The food and drink is all either homemade or locally sourced and cooked and presented in a creative and artistic way. It really was incredible.
Would highly recommend and will definitely be making a return visit ??

This is probably my 25th visit to John's House and an annual pilgrimage I make each summer (as I do not live in the UK). Loved it, as always, a delight to see Pedro and his wine pairings shine brightly, classically, and with personality. Loved the food, with a nice mix of classic JH dishes and some new twists. LOVED the hogget dish, that hit a new high for me. I might have eaten 5-6 breads to mop up the sauces. Charming interaction with Gracie - she's one to watch in hospitality as she just has 'it' and thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks for another great night, see you again 3 weeks! Matt

A few years ago, my wife and I had the pleasure of dining at John?s House, the only Michelin-starred restaurant in Leicestershire at the time?and our first-ever Michelin-star experience. We weren?t sure what to expect, but from the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for something special.
We were greeted warmly and invited to relax downstairs while our table was prepared. The setting struck a perfect balance between country house charm and rustic farm elegance, instantly making us feel at home.
We both went for the tasting menu, and what followed was an evening of incredible food and thoughtful service.
Can you remember the best dish you?ve ever eaten? The one that sticks with you no matter how many meals you?ve had since? For me, it was the salt cod at John?s House. It wasn?t flashy or overcomplicated?just perfectly balanced and full of flavor. Then came a wild mushroom risotto, a dish that wasn?t even on the menu but was made specially for us after we mentioned we weren?t big on venison. That little touch made all the difference.
The service was faultless. The Maître d? led the team with quiet confidence, keeping everything running smoothly while making sure we felt looked after. The younger waitstaff were great too?attentive without being intrusive.
When the bill arrived, £175 felt like an absolute steal for what we?d just experienced. The food, the service, the atmosphere?everything set a standard that, to this day, no other restaurant has quite matched.
I can?t wait to go back and hope it?s just as good as I remember. John?s House isn?t just a meal?it?s an experience that stays with you long after the last bite.

my wife and I are celebrating our seventieth birthdays and our two children and their partners treated us to the tasting menu this evening. The meal was amongst the best we have ever had, and the staff could not have been better. A wonderful restaurant.

We are so lucky to have John's house near us but if you get the opportunity I would make it a destination as it's 100% worth it. Lovely staff and so knowledgeable, the food is a statement to the hardworking chef and his crew. They can be proud! Simply great. We'll be back!!
