I took my son (16) for his eyesight review at Melton Mowbray branch of SpecSavers. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the Optician who dealt with my son was professional, explained everything so that he understood. Couldn't ask for anything more. Thank you ?

My family and I have been using the Melton branch for years. The staff are usually friendly and very attentive?until our recent visit! The lady who took our details (very loudly and in a somewhat aggressive manner) announced all of our personal information to a very busy store then afterwards asked if I minded this! I informed her she?d already told everyone. Her response was to pull a face as if suffering from an irritable bowel attack. I thought I may have been overly touchy, we all have bad days right? This however continued as she took my husband over to the machine. Rude, dismissive dare I say obnoxious! I spoke to a lovely chap who asked what happened and then e-mailed spec savers. No response so carried on with life! We went to pick up my Husbands glasses and it was my turn for a test. Irritable bowel lady was stood with a colleague at the desk loudly telling her I was the one who?d complained?the colleague was unsure who she meant so I informed her she meant me! Another irritable bowel attack hit and her obvious anger and disapproval of me radiated around the store. If I hadn?t already paid for my Husbands glasses I wouldn?t have had them. Her attitude was abysmal, customer service skills lacking and I seriously began to question at this point if customer service is her forte?! I didn?t feel welcome enough to carry on (apologies to the lovely lady dealing with my Husband) so we left the store. I?ve never in all my adult years found myself in such a situation. Definitely will not be returning to the Melton branch!

They do not answer the phone or return calls.Over-promise and under-deliver.Around 3 good staff members, who have been there for years. The rest do not appear to care. Severely lacking in customer care and awareness of what clients need.Not a great experience.

Hello, I wanted to let you know that I am not satisfied with the customer service in the salon. There is a very long wait for an eye test. 3/4 weeks is overkill. When we come to the salon, the employees are hanging around, but before someone takes care of us, we usually wait more than 40 minutes. This is not a one time situation, it happens every time. It doesn't matter if we have an appointment or not. We are there often. It annoys me that no one respects my time. We recently had an appointment to pick up the glasses on Wednesday. We went, the glasses were not ready. The staff apologized and promised that they would be ready as soon as possible. Someone was supposed to call the next day when we can pick them up. Quiet until Saturday. Nobody answers the phones. On Saturday, we just went again. No respect for the customer! One more thing. My son is 7 years old but he is big so he had to choose glasses for teenagers. And attention, there was as much as 1 frame model to choose from! Really?! I think we were with you last time.

Have used the service for many years, an 'old' customer, I have come back because I'm pleased with the service. Only once did I have a problem, which was quickly resolved.I have recently used the audio service too and that has given similar good service. There has sometimes been a wait but some sight problems are more difficult to resolve so I bring something to read in case; the provision of an accessible loo is a bonus

As always I found my latest appointment with Specsavers excellent. All staff are very helpful and professional. The Optician S. Ajmeria explained all the tests, their results and what it meant to me and answered all my questions. There was no change to my sight and no pressure to purchase new glasses even though I have had current ones for 3 years.

Hinge spring anchor failed after wearing just a few (approx 6) times for sitting reading book on holiday, Specsaver claimed unable to repair and (£90 frames) and said I would have to pay in full cost of replacement frames. Always use cheap £5 amazon pair while working and at home. Only purchased these a wanted reactor lens for reading in the Sun while on holidays. Based on this experience cheap Amazon frames are much better quality and certainly much more robust. Really surprised Specsavers sell such poor quality and even more so that they wont stand by them.Specsavers even accused be of breaking them which I did not and find this very insulting. As said they where only used for sitting reading on holiday so not abused in any way.EDIT 20/07/2023In fairness to Specsavers after dropping them a message via website link the local store manager called me and resolved the problem by supplying new frame's free of charge.

This time my glasses have fitted perfectly, i have a slightly higher eyebrow than the other but this time you can not tell. So the fitter who adjusted them for me did the best job this time. very pleased.
