We stopped in Miss B's Tea Rooms for a late breakfast on Saturday and ordered mocha, lemon lemonade (no available, we got raspberry one instead), scrambled eggs on toast with smoked salmon and an omelette with mushrooms, bacon and onion.
The mocha was OK, it was very sweet and there was lots of chocolate drink powder on the bottom of the cup, the lemonade was very refreshing. The omelette was really nice, however the quantity of side coleslaw was a teaspoon! The scrambled eggs were very dried, but really what disappointed me was that they sliced the butter and left it on the hot toast - by the time we got the food the butter was melting on toast. The staff didn't ask if this was how we wanted the toasts served, we expected the butter would be on the side. Anyway, I couldn't have any of toast. The salmon was good but overall the food was tasteless.
Despite the food was served promptly, we were waiting ages for someone to check if everything was OK with the food - the staff disappeared. Same when we wanted to pay the bill. The staff was nowhere to find...
The place has character and it reminds me of old, traditional tea tooms, especially when they play old music.
But the experience with staff and tasteless food put me off from this place so much, next time I will try somewhere else. I think Miss B's Tea Rooms had passed its time of excellent, what a shame!

Usually 5 star all round; unfortunately staff levels on this day left me waiting to order pudding after my lunch meal, which in the end I didn't have time to so paid and left.

We called in today, one of us had sandwiches and then the other had jacket potato. We said we would order a sweet afterwards. After we had finished our food. We waited for ages to order our puddings. Nobody came to see if the food was ok. The young girl was just sitting on her phone which is totally unprofessional and you should be really on going on your phone when on your break. Then a couple had tuned up and it took ages for them to order their food etc. In the end we never got asked if we wanted anything else so we went to pay, then the card machine wasn?t working so we said we could pay in cash, they didn?t have enough change to give us any !! . This isn?t how a food business should be run, something really needs to change. We won?t be going back in the future.

We were recommended this place and took awhile to find it as it?s located upstairs. On arrival we thought it was very pretty and quaint. The young waitress took our order which arrived very promptly. I had a tea with scone butter and jam. The scone was quite hot! I waited a bit before trying to cut it in half! But no it was solid rock! I tried to get the attention of the waitress who was in the kitchen alone as the cook had disappeared.
I told the waitress the problem, she just advised to ask if ?they will take it off when we pay! I asked if I could have another scone but was told it would be the same! I then asked could I have a toasted tea-cake instead? The reply was ?I will try? totally not bothered! Anyway she went somewhere to find the cook and then went into the kitchen. I had given up with my request as my friend had finished her sandwiches and our tea when the tea-cake arrived, it was actually 2 slices of fruit bread, I gave up at this point. It was given to me with ?here you are?, my rock solid scone wasn?t even removed! Anyway I had to video the scone, judge it for yourself.

We came here on Sunday 16 March for afternoon tea, this was a early Mothers Day treat for me, really wish we hadn't bothered, the place it's self is lovely although wasn't so sure about the 2 calor gas heaters, one was on the other wasn't, we were welcomed with all smiles, shown to our table, we had our dog with us too, the afternoon tea came out, look lovely, looks can be deceiving! 2 of the sandwiches had chicken and bacon mayo, the kind you get from the supermarket in little tubs, think they had run out and tried to make it stretch over 2 sandwiches, not enough to go around, 1 egg mayo, tuna and sweetcorn, and cheese, small piece of pork pie, 1 small piece of ginger cake, a slice of chocolate tray bake, and a very dry stale scone, with jam and squirty cream ( who puts squirty cream on a scone!) Halfway though eating the lady who runs the place came over to a photo of us, bit strange as we was in the middle of eating, didn't ask if everything was OK, just wanted a photo, my daughter who is vegan, had vegan sausage roll, avocado and tomato, cheese and onion, cream cheese and cucumber sandwiches, chocolate Brownie, a chocolate pot, again with squirty cream, and scone with jam and squirty cream already on and a cherry bakewell (wasn't sure if this was actually vegan so she didn't eat it) when the young girl came to clear the table, I did mention to her that my scone was rock hard and wasn't very nice, she just said oh sorry about that, like they already knew it wasn't that fresh, I had to actually ask if it could be swapped for something else, dont think your suppose to ask and just pay for it, definitely not worth almost £38 I wouldn't recommend this place!

Miss B's Tearoom is an absolute gem! From the moment you step inside, you're welcomed with the warmest smiles and the friendliest service. The staff are truly wonderful, making every visit a delight. The food is simply delicious?beautifully presented, full of flavour, and made with such care. The decor is charming and inviting, creating a lovely, cozy atmosphere that makes you want to stay all day. I?ve completely fallen in love with this place?it?s my new favourite spot in Melton! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a perfect tearoom experience!

Spectacular All Day veggie breakfast at Mrs B's. Just the ticket to cheer us up. Huge portions, excellent homemade meals and cakes, coffee, fast friendly service, excellent value for money, what's not too like? Definitely a resounding 1000/1000 from us.

A little upstairs vintage cafe, interesting collection of salt and pepper shakers.
Menu is quite classic, offer up local tasters and platters, reasonable prices. Salad was quite fresh, the quiche pieces were very thin and very cold, just came out of the fridge. The piece stiton was fresh.
It is an upstairs cafe, it is not suitable for people with accessibility issues.
We would probably go back to try other offerings.

Very nice visit, we called in, purely for a decent hit of tea and cake on a Saturday lunchtime. Staff were very nice, asked if our dog would like water, and food was very reasonably priced, and great scones and toffee cake, too.

Lovely find, I always think hidden away cafe's upstairs are worth finding.
Service a little slow, but I had a lovely omelette with local stilton, it was great.
Had to pay for 2 coffees as first one went too quickly , I wish UK had the tradition that your cup is topped up
