If Willy Wonka had a café in town, it?d be this one.
Popped into 54a King Street Coffee Shop and left in a chocolate-fuelled trance. The double chocolate cake was so rich, I considered proposing to it. Paired it with a creamy hot chocolate that felt like a warm hug from a cocoa bean. Bonus points for the surprise biscuit on the saucer ? classy move!
The staff? Super friendly ? like the kind of people who?d rescue your cat and make you a cuppa after. Prices? Surprisingly good, so I didn?t even have to sell a kidney.
Lovely vibe, cozy chairs, and a menu bigger than my willpower. Will 100% be back (possibly tomorrow).

WOW.
Visited this cafe with my friend on 4th December. My friend had recommended it to me as she had found it whilst visiting the area recently.
We received a warm welcome from a very friendly gentleman named Nigel who showed us to a table for 2 next to the till. The atmosphere was relaxed and decor interesting. We both ordered Melton Mowbray Pie with 2 delicious types of bread, salad, pickled onion, fresh orange and one with amazing Stilton Cheese and one with Cheddar Cheese. Both meals were delicious. We both had a Specially made Sparkling Drink however both were different flavours but very moorish and refreshing, they were lovely .
The prices are very reasonable, quality and food was outstanding.
This cafe has 'got it right'.
Visiting here you won't be disappointed.
I asked where they purchased the pie and cheese from so that I could go and purchase some to take home. This I did.
Many Thanks

First time visiting melton and fancied a bit of lunch , found this little cafe off the main precinct and thought we?d give it a try. First impressions were good as a very friendly gentleman came and took our order, then the food came and it was lovely. Hubby had the pork pie, Stilton, pickle and bread. It was a huge portion for the price and the bread was delicious. I had a salad because was trying to b healthy but it came with a lovely bit of specialty bread too. When serving lunch he kindly brought the dog some treats too! All the ladies working there were lovely too. Not often you get such good service at places these days. Credit to the owner . Thank you

Lovely place to stop for a pie and some cheese! Service was great and what I've loved seeing is the staff sitting and eating lunch together ?

A true gem! Authentic food, warm and welcoming service and incredible pies. Rain or shine I would reccomend this place, I'll be making efforts to detour to swing by for the pie platter as it is incredible. If you're near, swing by, you won't regret it. If you're not close it's worth visiting. (You can even take the pies home! So of course we did).

Went in here for lunch with my daughter and grandson, ordered 2 sandwiches and pasta bake, waited 25 minutes waitress brought our food which was wrong, took it away even though my daughter had started eating hers and then waited another 25 minutes, after asking girls when we would be served she snapped back we are very busy, another 10 minutes waiting and we decided to leave with no apology, there are many eating establishments in Melton and certainly won?t be returning.

Stopped off at Melton Mowbray mid way on journey from Stockport to Harlow. Chose this cafe due to favourable reviews. Warm welcome from the staff, lots of choices, prompt service, generous portions and value for money. Would highly recommend and will return next time!
