I was 12 years loyal mortgage customer and refused a small mortgage for some very questionable reasons. Passed from pillar to post. Spent a month sending the same documents to different departments. Only to be told after a whole month it wasn?t possible. Terrible experience.

I have had a MHBS account since the early 1960's had my mortgage with them in 1978 never had a problem went in yesterday as i had misplaced my pass book it was sorted on the spot and new book issued. i have found the staff to be helpful and polite fantastic service.

Possibly the worst banking institution I?ve dealt with globally. Having a website and ?secure? online access is pointless if you constantly require customers to submit documentation in paper format through the mail, particularly during a worldwide pandemic. I was happy to get my money out and close my account. I would rather get 0% interest on my money with HSBC than 1.4% interest with MHBS. You need to seriously consider who your target customers are, if they are successful, busy professionals - then you have totally missed the mark. We don?t have the time or the inclination to be in constant back and forth correspondence over something as simple as updating a mobile phone number on an account. If anyone is considering opening a MHBS Account, and you don?t have hours of spare time to dedicate to the most basic banking functions which other institutions have streamlined, do yourself a favour and place your money elsewhere!

An abusive and bullying Building Society that seeks to feather it's own cap rather than work with the customer where someone is being financially abused by their partner. The bank repeatedly placed unreasonable demands on me and have taken on the function of policing a court order that was issued in the spirit of alleviating the financial stress and pressure I am under. They then became happy to then take on the role of proxy abuser making it slow and difficult for me to obtain the financial relief I needed and was entitled to through the court order in order to put my house in the best conditon, all whilst raking in 5.5% interest
