Very welcoming church with some excellent praise music. Nicely modernised to provide a flexible space for worship and community activities. Children?s groups during the main service. All age congregation. At the moment the church is in interregnum (April 2022) so Lay leaders helping with preaching. Main Sunday service about 60 minutes long. Gentle and Jesus filled service. If I lived locally it would certainly be a church I would feel at home in.

The church has no complaints policy, no resources for reconciliation should you have any questions and upset anyone in leadership. They have no training in regards to the neurodiverse. No training in anything that's not legally required. The previous Vicar and qualified counsellor, Keith Elliott, was allowed to give a secret diagnosis of me having a dangerous mental condition to his staff team. I do have an autistic disability. I noticed things and asked questions, lots of questions. I needed help but they're able to shut down and isolate anyone who might see what's really unhelpful. The power dynamics of this church are dangerously unhealthy if you don't think like they do. It requires people to be unquestioning and compliant. Discussions about the church are tightly controlled. If they don't like you enough you'll get to find out. I didn't know how to find out about any of the real mindset of this church. My autistic mind landed me in more trouble every time. There's no protection from any bullying attacks by untrained leaders. They simply won't let their awful processes be questioned. My husband and I continue still to try and change the safeguarding to be true safeguarding. This church has used their safeguarding team and policies to harm me. They don't see me as a vulnerable adult because my mindset sees things they want to hide. Bullying is not yet illegal so it's not possible to stop them doing it if they want to. You will only be able to be comfortable here if you are nice enough and compliant enough. I didn't know it works like that. A no-friend autistic person like me is very easy pickings. What a church!!! Come here if you want to help change the church bullying culture but if calling leaders to account is too difficult you may actually be very happy and content in the peace of knowing that no one is going to be able to complain. Submission is possibly their highest measure of godliness. But come along and see for yourself.
