Nice wide parking spaces with plenty of room around the car. Going up and down the ramps can be a bit tight if you have a larger vehicle. Be aware that the payment stations are not no on every floor. There are 3 machines on floor 3, where the bridge from John Lewis comes over the road.

Dear Sainsbury?s Customer Services Team,
I?m writing because I had a really unpleasant experience at your LE1 store when I tried to buy alcohol and the sale was refused. I completely understand you have to follow age-restricted sales rules and that staff can refuse a sale where appropriate, that?s not the issue. The issue was the way it was handled.
I showed my BRP as ID and, when staff had concerns about it (I didn?t realise at the time about the UK Government changes from December 2020 affecting reliance on BRP expiry dates in some contexts), we offered to show an eVisa instead, which clearly shows our date of birth and confirms we are over 25. Rather than calmly explaining what forms of ID you accept, the staff and the manager became hostile, loud, and were shouting in the shop. They also said they didn?t want to sell because they could ?smell alcohol? on the customer, which felt like an unfair accusation and not a reasonable basis for the way we were spoken to and treated.
Honestly, the whole interaction felt discriminatory and came across as racist and intimidating, especially in front of other customers. Even if a sale has to be refused, people should still be treated with basic respect, and any concerns about ID or intoxication should be handled politely and consistently, not with judgement or a public confrontation.
Could you please look into this? I?d also really appreciate written clarification on what IDs are accepted for alcohol purchases and whether a digital eVisa is accepted. Lastly, I?d like reassurance that the team will get a refresher on professional conduct, de-escalation, and equality and diversity. Please confirm you?ve received this complaint and let me know the outcome once you?ve reviewed it, I can share the store details, date/time, and anything else you need.
Just to be clear, I?m not trying to demean anyone. There seems to be a real lack of awareness about what?s accepted and what isn?t, and even if the ID wasn?t acceptable, there?s a professional way to explain that without shouting or making accusations.

Lovely, sparkly new store in a great location. However, having visited several times now (I live nearby), I?ve consistently experienced poor customer service from the store manager (I assume she is the manager ? short brownish hair, wearing her own clothes). Everyone can have the occasional off day, but unfortunately this behaviour has been persistent rather than a one-off.
Other residents in my building have noticed the same thing, and we?ve had multiple conversations about it. If customers are repeatedly made to feel uncomfortable, they simply won?t return ? especially given there is a lot of competition nearby and the prices aren?t particularly cheap.
Something else that feels off is how reduced items are handled. When products are due for a second reduction, they are often placed on a trolley and taken to the back of the store rather than being put back on the shelves. These items were not out of date, and on one occasion a group of customers were waiting specifically to purchase them.
I also overheard the manager telling a customer that they were being ?difficult? for requesting a refund instead of an exchange, which is not acceptable customer service.
It?s a shame, as the store itself is lovely, but the overall experience is being let down by the way customers are treated.

Lovely store with a great selection, clean and well organised. And yes, it?s a Sainsbury?s Local in a prime location, so of course it?s priced accordingly.

It is brand new and highly clean, organised and tidy. Prices are fair compared to other local/express stores. Love they have discounted items (which are of much better quality than those in other stores). Hope it will stay and do well in business as grocery stores are what is lacking in that area.

Visited this brand new store recently. Everything looks clean and well organised, and the place feels fresh and tidy overall. The only downside for me is the pricing. It feels a bit on the expensive side, so I would probably drive a little further and shop at Aldi instead. Overall, it is a good store, just not great value for me.
