The hotel was an interesting one, in that the entrance on the ground floor has a table football area, but is dimly lit.Second, when I arrived to check in, the lift required a card key to scan, so I couldn't use it to access the first floor for reception.Third, there was no clear area on Level 1 to check in. I could see the area to register your car, but checking in was done at the bar, which is a new thing.Fortunately, my room request was taken into consideration, and I was assigned a room right by the lift. The volume of shower gel and shampoo in the room was low, and the light fixtures had cables that were not tucked away, so it looked messy overall. The bed was comfortable, and the use of a Rubik's cube-style extension cord was clever. The wardrobe was tiny, despite the room having a lot of space.Walkability: Literally a 5 min walk from the train station.Advice: Leave the train station and head Right. Do not cross the road, and follow the path, past the Premier Inn.You will see the Ibis in the distance. You can either access the hotel using the path, then a small set of stairs to the left, or down the main staircase and under the tiny car park.

Disappointed with the room (101), had horrible smell, some kind of stain on floor by bed and a sock on the floor by the 3rd bed.Toilet pods are shabby, rooms could do with a refurb and a proper clean!!Staff were pleasant and reception/bar area was nice enough.Should have asked for a room change but was late and needed to sleep. Although should not need to do this if cleaning carried out properly. At least the sheets and towels were clean.Despite the poor room, location is next to railway and a short walk to centre of city.Won?t stay here again and will think twice about staying at an Ibis hotel. Have had far better experiences with other budget hotels.

It's a budget hotel, so I'm not expecting bells & whistles. The rooms were clean & good size, but very noisy from the traffic. The windows did little to shield from this. When the wind blew, there was a loud whistle preventing sleep that could only be stopped by opening the window.... in January in a cold snap with subzero temps! The bathroom had a nice big shower & was generally adequate, and the beds were comfy.Breakfast was basic but tasty, with a regular household toaster serving everyone, which made for long waits. The restaurant didn't open for food until 18:30. This was fine for adults, but not great for my 4yr old or other young families. We ended up eating elsewhere due to this.Staff were helpful which made it a pleasant short stay.

I had a lovely relaxing afternoon Christmas day on the 1st floor by a beautifully decorated Xmas tree in the spacious bar/ restaurant carnt wait to see the Valentines Day decorations oh but we mustn't forget chinese new year as well.A lovely presented cup and saucer tea and a good book I spent a couple of hoursOverlooking the busy roads of Leicester.Rooms: The rooms have a great bathroom pod theme going on so compact with everything in side with maximum of privacy.Hopefully a sofa in the room will reduce having to make the bed into a sofa in the daytime. For all guests their is free parking.Safety: Lift available in the lobby to all floorsSecurity Guards available for assistance during the night.Walkability: Just a 5 minutes walk from Leicester City Centre.Food & drinks: A Hot English Breakfast available every morning and a lovely variety of Cereal, Pastries, Fresh Fruit, Tea, Cofee, Fruit Juices

Unimpressed. Hotel surrounded by busy dual carriageways, so not easy pedestrian access to and from city centre. Entrance is in the basement, but the lobby and reception are on the ground floor...Room small and dated, with smelly carpet and chipped paintwork. Bed is very poor quality, not even a proper mattress. Room stifling hot even with the faux air conditioning, as it only blows hot in winter, so opened window to the sound of busy traffic just outside... TV small with poor sound. Also only one lift for entire building, which is also the service lift... The only decent thing was the towels. Won't be staying again.. worst night's sleep in a hotel ever..

Standard hotel fare at breakfast, room was adequate for a 1 night stay with small but serviceable bathroom. Reasonably priced for the area, what more can you ask?

Room was clean enough, although there was an extra bed in our room that we hadn't asked for which meant we couldn't use the hanging space. It also clearly hadn't moved in a while as it was filthy underneath it. Bathroom clean and serviceable, although the pod style is not really my thing. The shower also let water run all over the floor as the tray isn't deep enough. Breakfast was OK, but not much option if you have food intolerances/allergies. Only had scrambled eggs and no option to have any other type - not great when they put milk in it.....!

The hotel never disappoints. Staff are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are clean and simple with plenty of room. Breakfast is plentiful and the all day menu provides a good range of food to suit most palates, dietary needs and preferences. Close to the railway station and a short walk to the city centre and a varied range of restaurants.Rooms: Clean, well appointed and all you needNearby activities: Close to shops, railway station and restaurantsSafety: Good attention to hygiene, cleanliness and fire precautions

Nice hotel for a quick stay. We can park for free inside hotel as well. But if no space then Railway Station has more paid parking space. Walking to City Center for good shopping and dining experiences.

Handy for the station. A bit difficult finding the entrance. There seems to be only one lift which means a wait most times. So I mostly walked up and down the stairs. Breakfasts are good enough. Good value overall so I will probably consider staying again.

Hotel was in a good location. The staff on arrival were helpful. The buffet food was slow to be replenished, and no one checked it

Frustrating that our breakfast was not showing on our booking despite having booked park and stay and breakfast. Luckily after some debate we negotiated to be able to eat breakfast. Guy checking us in could have been friendlier. Room was nice and shower huge.

Very outdated rooms.Climate control not working, so room was stinking hot. Rock hard bed. Poor quality tv. Absolutely zero amenities. Staff on arrival not welcoming. Some insane banging coming from inside hotel at 7am.Only positive is that the bath towels were soft.

Overall very good. Car park at this hotel is an awkward shape and small due to the hotel's location. Interior is coming up for a refresh. Grey paint off in several places especially inside my room, 421. Lift also seemed to be not quite right, needs checking. Going down when should be going up etc. I used the stairs afterwards.

Room a little on the small side but there was ample communal space instead. Staff were very friendly, accomdating, good location to the city, everything within walking distance and didn?t have to use my car during my stay there.
