I?ve stayed here on numerous occasions and like some other reviews the quality has taken a nose dive since I first stayed. You can stay in cheaper and better hotels in Leicester and I generally stayed here due to being a long time loyal IHG member. Which counts for nothing these days other than a free drinkIf this is what they offer standard customers (and often at ridiculously inflated prices) then IHG members should honestly stay clear. This has to be the only hotel I?ve experienced that will offer twin rooms to IHG members on arrival despite trying to book a standard double when booking. Once again loyalty counts for nothing. IHG really need to let IHG members know if they book via the IHg app that this may be the case before arrival as I would generally book elsewhere.Internet (for those travelling for business) is pretty much nonexistent in certain rooms, if indeed you can connect at all, signal strength from the King Power stadium is better than their own wifi.Heating doesn?t exist and this seems to have been a problem for a while now however this is substituted with a little oil filled radiator tucked underParking is probably its biggest selling point given its location but it?s not exactly near to town but is handy for the hospital You are better off paying for parking and staying in another hotel as it would probably work out the same. And if parking isn?t a requirement stay at the Brooklyn (it?s often cheaper than this place) or even stay at the Belmont. Good hotel with parking. I could list others but if this is the standard for Holiday Inns these days I would rather stay elsewhere. Very poor

The hotel is looking very tired in public areas threadbare carpets, worn split chairs, varnish worn through on tables. The rooms are comfortable but the air conditioning is broken and things like the shower heads are old and need replacing. As previously said the hotel is tired and in desperate need of a refurbishment. Be aware also that at least one floor is given over to council emergency housing with families living there long term. I understand that people need to have homes but a hotel is not the right place for them. The positives are that the staff are really nice and the location great but sadly I won't be staying again until such a time as a full refurbishment is carried out

Dissapointed, there wasn't a restaurant inside the hotel. This meant heading back out after a day of travelling to find some food. There is a bar snacks menu, but I was alarmed when the girl on reception offered to 'cook' me something. All in all slightly below standard even for a budget chain Hotel.

No aircon working place was super hot, bed abysmal, paint literally peeling from walls and brown stains on tiles behind toilet, had family room on top floor.Staff where fine though.

I stay at Holiday Inn's because of they are quite consistent in service, room condition and cleanliness when working away.Unfortunately this one did not live up to expectations. Service was lackluster, the corridors on my floor had threadbare carpets. The heating was not working in the room (-2% that night). When I asked about the heating I was told it was not working in any rooms and there should be a standalone heater in the room, there was not. This was sorted out quite quickly.Bar meal was a little on the small side, breakfast was quite good, however some long staying guests seemed to think no one else waw entitled to get any croissants. Every time the servers replenish them the long staying guest cleared the lot immediately and before anyone else could get near them. Not what I expect from an IHG hotel.

Cheaper version of city centre hotel but includes parking. Great for football less so for city centre. Room was nice - clean with good shower but no bath. Lighting set up was odd - couldn?t have reading light on unless main light was also on. Breakfast was very basic but adequate. Get your coffee at Jennos at the rugby ground - the one on offer is awful.

Everything was really good, Rooms and service was excellent.Only reason I would give a 4 star is that the breakfast is the same everyday. We stayed 3 nightsCould have done scrambled eggs one day, Omlettes another and boiled eggs another day. Just a suggestion :)

I don't like giving poor reviews, normally I just don't review at all if I don't like a place. However, this hotel could easily up their game, particularly in the food department. Dinner is basically non-existent, they even recommend using take away in their DBB deal. I had to download an app to be able to eat-there is nowhere close to go to. Breakfast is almost adequate. Almost. The wifi is so intermittent that I was unable to do the work I needed to do. I always choose hotels who claim to have wifi, this hotel claims to, but doesn't deliver. All in all, I can't recommend this hotel. I would have graded them as "don't like" if it hadn't been for the very helpful front of house staff. I shan't be staying here in future.

Air con not working - seems it?s never worked reading the reviews. Rudely told I wouldn?t be able to get a refund and they basically won?t be doing anything about it. Don?t stay here unless it?s winter, even then I wouldn?t, or unless you?re into staying in a sauna and being offered a fan to push the hot air around?Update to the hotels response - it was booked through an agency so I had no control. And that?s outside of the problem, the air con hasn?t worked for over a year from the reviews, should have been fixed by now. You also definitely would not have mentioned that the inside temperature exceeds 30 degrees in some places as the reception area is lovely and cool unlike the rest of the hotel. There?s also nobody bothering to even monitor the heat or get some air flow in there, they just seem to put up signs and expect people to accept it. As mentioned, this isn?t a new problem and they seemingly have no intention to fix it.So my complaint remains and my suggestion to avoid also remains. Do not stay here. My room smelt dank, the shower smells like an old mop that hasn?t been cleaned, tiles are broken on the floor. I?m certain this won?t have been communicated. This is not a nice hotel and I?d be happy to see it closed and renovated into one that is pleasant to stay in, you guys seem to just play on the fact you?re by the stadium. It?s sad that IHG allow these kind of standards and to go on for such a long time. Do better, or quit doing nothing about it.I also struggle to believe the 3 star rating when having an internal phone system and room service are heavy stipulations to obtain such a rating. Seems very suspicious. I?d rate this 2 star at best.

Thought I'd booked a double but got a twin. Was explained to me it was because I had booked a "Standard" room and that if I booked a proper hotel like the Holiday Inn (not Express) they have double double rooms but the express have double twins. Still have no idea how this translates, I selected a double room on the website, if it was only a twin available I wouldn't have booked. End result I got a twin room, £115, broken tiles on bathroom floor with no grout, wall light with no shade. And the air conditioning is not working, hasn't been for a while apparently, but you can have a fan to blow the warm air around the room you didn't want. And the free wifi is slow, buffers all the time. No use if your trying to work. Would I use again? Never. Would sooner travel further than stay here.

Rooms clean and comfortable - unless you stay in the height of summer because they tell you the air con is broken, but which hotels have air con that is not working for 1 year ++?You pay to use air con in with the price of your stay, so you're essentially ripping people off when you don't supply it, or at least warn future guests in advance so they can make alternative arrangements rather than have sweltering nights with only an inadequate fan to use instead.Shame really because it's in a prime position, especially if you're a footie fan.

No air conditioning, it has been apparently broken for two years. The hot selection for breakfast is decidedly poor. Anaemic bacon, tough sausages and scrambled eggs, which turn into a granular texture in your mouth. Pay £90 per night if you wish, but this was ultimately no better than a Travelodge.
