I really don?t like leaving negative reviews, especially since I?m a huge fan of Dunelm?s home furnishings. However, my recent experience at one of their stores was disappointing. I was treated quite rudely by the staff at the tills when I tried to purchase a pair of scissors and a set of cutlery.
I believe the staff could benefit from a refresher on the 'Think 25' policy, as it seems they didn?t understand at all that it?s about being over 18, not necessarily 25 (which I am, and I showed my ID). While I understand they have the right to refuse a sale, the issue wasn?t the refusal?it was how they spoke to me, with one female member of staff marching over to me and very patronisingly saying ?No!? which is so beyond unacceptable and took me by surprise completely as I?ve never been spoken to like that out of nowhere.
After, I went next door to TK-Maxx where I was able to buy some scissors and cutlery with no issues at all (I showed the same valid ID) and it was like night and day how much nicer the experience was compared to at Dunelm.
I?ll continue to shop at Dunelm because I love their products, but I won?t be returning to this particular branch as I?m so put off by how the till staff treated me.

Great shop lovely place to shop for home wear and gifts. Cafe with cream tea apple pie coffee and cold health drinks. You can even get you gift wrap here... Live it.
