Hi. Went for a walk at high fields today and stopped at the cafè for our normal latte and scone with cream and jam.Mmmmm until we tooled into it. The jam has changed into a paper pot so spooned out of a jar. Not the same taste or quality as the old small jars and to be honest ruined the experience. \nThe cafe has been revamped and it looks fantastic. Please bring the little jars back.

University café that hits all the right spots. It's a little hectic, even on Sundays, but as a uni café, you can't really expect otherwise. I highly recommend the scones with clotted cream and jam. A delight that goes with any hot drink!\n\n(You can also get sandwiches and bagels if you don't like scones)

We started our visit to the park with a welcome visit here for a hot drink and pastry. It set us up well for the boating Lake and golf.

It would seem management at this venue needs sorting. Not only do they have bad reviews about staff and food, but please do not apply for a job here. My friend went for interview, did a trial shift, and was then told they would get in touch middle of following week. She heard nothing, and still no response when she emailed them. RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL!!

Went today 25aug19. Not a bad cafe BUT they use a card reader with a known fault - it will suddenly stop working after you think you have paid and voids the transaction. Which means you need to pay with cash, hand back the coffee or go hunting for a cash machine - all right if you have time available. Not a way to satisfy customers and all because they use a defective card reader. Next time I will hand it back.\nRichard Bevitt

Been there a few times and I'm disappointed because the staff there is miserable and they don't care about make guests happy. I'm saying this because I went there the summer a hot day with 30 degrees and not only once but a few times, I asked for cold coffee drinks and their responds it was a rude" we don't do cold drinks" then I ask for glass full of ice to pour my coffee over and I had to ask twice as they was giving me just two ice by the time and that for my is just miserable. I went back and ask the same thing again and still the same response which means that they are not trying to become better and satisfying customer's

We went in for a bottle of water and spotted some delicious looking scones as we waited to pay. Asked a man behind the counter if we could have one and he ?only deals with hot drinks??! Seems odd all he needed to do was grab a scone!! Then when paying asked for the scone, and this man couldn?t do it either!! Finally the ?scone trained lady? was able to serve us, we wanted it to take away, and it was literally handed to us in our hand, no bag or anything. Very strange!!

I have visited this cafe on many occasions. The food on offer is ok not brilliant and the scones tend to be on the dry side. I do wish the staff could be a little more upbeat, a smile even would help.On the plus side it is always very clean and tidy. Beware of sitting near the opening door on a cool day! It is very handy for either before a performance or visiting the gallery to have a drink. However, there is often a lack of seats when it is very busy.

We stopped here for lunch and had the Leek and Potato soup which was very tasty and warming on a cool day.\n\nThe place was quite busy and only seemed to have one person serving which wasn't so good, but the queue went down quickly. Plenty of seating which was clean and tidy.

Ordered beer and cheese scone. Scone excellent. Asked for plastic cup for outside. Served for outside. Headed for outside to see all furniture coming in even though very warm day. Staff knew I wanted to head out but still brought furniture in. Dissatisfied and HOT.

This is a very useful café in a prime location for it sits right on the edge of the circular walk around Highfields boating lake.\n\nThe walk is a pleasant one and so this café, with its views over the lake, fits nicely in line with it. That said, once you are inside the café it is nothing particularly special. It's by no means bad - in fact the service I received recently was excellent, there was nothing wrong with the tea and the scones were OK, but the place doesn't stand out particularly or maximise its potential, at least in my opinion.\n\nIf there is anything remotely close to sunshine outside this café can become very busy, and it is not the biggest, so get down there early if you are going. There are seats outside, but not many. \n\nMy experience of this place in the past has been predominantly that of very loud children accompanied by mothers who believe it is acceptable for their children to ruin the enjoyment of others and that by letting them scream and shout their are encouraging their creativity, or some other such nonsense. Now, this might be your cup of tea (although why would be anyone's guess) but if it is not, be aware that you have a high risk of encountering these sorts of annoyances down here, particularly in the summer.\n\nOther than that this place is good. It is clean (enough) and it is well located for walkers and students alike, although I don't tend to see many students here, which again is a positive.

Stopped here for coffee. \n\nFirstly the doors had a note stating they weren?t working properly and didn?t always open. Once inside I asked for coffee and was told the machine had broken they could only do tea or cold drinks. I gave in left

Ate lunch here yesterday. It was grim. Tuna salad roll. A sub roll, cut in half with a dollop of tuna gloop, not even buttered and a couple of slices of cucumber. Not even close to the appearance of the food on the website. Small cups only 2/3rds full of tea. Cakes nothing special. Nice setting by the lake though with outside tables. Later on we happened to visit the Djanogly Art Gallery which is 100 yards away which has another cafe (The Gallery Cafe), which looked much, better. It was much busier too suggesting those who know vote with their feet. If you want my advice, and don't want to eat outside, try the Gallery cafe instead.
