I had the pleasure of Sunday lunch with 3 friends. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever, only compliments. The serving staff were excellent, cheery and helpful. The food itself was delicious, perfectly cooked and served to the table piping hot. The prices were very good and worth every penny. Roger is the perfect host, very informative and justifiably proud of what he does. I look forward to our next visit and have no hesitation in recommending this lovely establishment. Thanks again guys, see you soon.

Dropped in after work for a pint on 28th February 2025 only to see a little effigy of Donald Trump hanging from above the bar. On the day of Trump ambushing Zelensky in the Oval Office.
You can't buy good character. I can spend my cash elsewhere though.

What a great place this is for most gorgeous carvery an service. Food was 5 star and I don't know who trains the young staff in hospitality but they too are 5 star

Super friendly staff. We felt so welcomed, as we were looking for a nice place to have a drink after a dog walk.

A rare gem the Taphouse at Smisby Ashby De-La-Zouch.
Excellent, real home cooked fayre, plenty of smiles and a welcoming midlands accent.
A great range of draught drinks, real ales, well chosen wines and a real country ambiance to the setting. Warm, glowing!!
Winter when I dropped in so dined inside but walked the grounds and found what would be a big outdoor theme, with covered spaces, beautiful seating, a performance space, and a row of gorgeous cottage/apartments which the Taphouse let.
Overall I?d say a very well ran, special place where food, drink, ambience, warmth and a very welcoming host blend all that together to make it a top choice for me.

We stayed in the pubs carpark in our camper. We had previously booked a table and when we went in, we got seated straight away by a lovely young lady. My partner had the pie carvery which he said, was the best he had ever had! The chef came and asked us if everything was ok and, if we needed anything else to let him know. Very friendly staff and food was really good.

Dropped in for Sunday lunch even though we didn't book they managed to fit us in after a short wait, we had the carvery and it was one of the best we've had would highly recommend a visit.

Our first time here, we had a Sunday lunch carvery serves 12-6 so best to book as it was very busy. The food was amazing and there was plenty of it. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. It is definitely on our list to come back again.
