Our cat was booked in, deposit paid etc. at the end of September. When we arrived, his room wasn?t ready which caused me great concern. I should?ve walked away there and then. He seemed to like the heated bed and was happy once the room mix up was sorted. They seem to post pictures and videos on Facebook, so I was eagerly waiting an update on him. When we were away a few posts were put on and I couldn?t see him in any. I commented and asked how he was as he can be quiet and shy. They confirmed he was ok, but shy. I thought by commenting it would be a prompt for them to post him or give me some sort of update - it didn?t.More posts came and he was nowhere to be seen. I was tempted to ask my mum to collect him, but thought it would be OK.When we collected him, I was extremely concerned but couldn?t say anything as it was one of the owners who was an elderly man with a walking stick and I was too shocked to speak, I just wanted him out of there. He had wedged himself between the wall and the bed, was petrified and clearly hadn?t been eating. I think because he was shy, they just left him and didn?t bother to try and interact. He was clearly neglected. They didn?t even bother to message me direct or anything to tell me how he was etc. I found the whole thing distressing. And so did he.He wasn?t the same when he came back for 2 weeks, and I even took him to the vets as I was concerned.I have no proof, but he was definitely negligent. They?re supposed to be an established business. But I would NEVER use them again and always tell people to avoid them. They may have been good in the past, but they?re not now.I was fearful he?d been taken to the vets or something like someone mentioned in an older review.I will never ever put my cats in a cattery because of them.AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Unfortunately, despite providing more than enough wet food for my cat?s stay, she came back very thin and obviously very hungry. She ate more than twice as much food as usual in the 2 weeks after we got home. Her condition was extremely distressing and as an old cat has probably caused her a great deal of harm.

We recently moved to the village and being the nearest cattery it's the obvious one to use. I visited them before we made any bookings and was made to feel rushed after being there for only a few minutes by a woman whom I assume to be the owner. Not a great start but i made a couple of bookings anyway. A few weeks later I called to double check them as we were close to going away and they had no record of them. I went down in person and they found my registration form but still no record of the bookings. Not a great continuation. We took our two cats down and went on holiday and on our return was told that they had to treat both cats for fleas adding £25 to our bill. No call beforehand out of courtesy and rude when I questioned it. Our cats are treated every month and had been treated just a few days before we dropped them off. They didn't care that I was annoyed and upset by this even after I told them I would be taking our cats to another cattery and never using them again. Not a great conclusion.I am genuinely surprised that they are such a busy cattery when there are others quite close that I have now found out are much better and cheaper. Appleby cattery even charge for the day of pickup which I have never experienced before either. It's like a hotel charging for two days when you sleep there for one night. You need to be comfortable and able to trust where you leave your cats when you go away. I do not trust this cattery at all.

Beautiful cattery with excellent facilities to keep your cat happy while on holiday in beautiful surroundings. Lynne and her team are dedicated to caring for the cats and the pens were all spotlessly clean when I visited. All the little furry friends seemed content and came to say hello.

We have had our ginger kitty stay here twice for 2 weeks while we were abroad for holiday. I must say our cat was well looked after and had a great stay each time. I would recommend this place to anyone without any doubt.

Make people aware that you are giving flee tablets to their cats, rather than do it without concent and then ask for money for the treatment on the collection. This is medical treatment which should be discussed with owner first. Im sure you are not a licensed vet and you have broken an act of law.
