“Fab food. Didn't book. Just walked in, grabbed a table. Lamb shank with lashings of gravy was as good as it gets. Other halves chicken burger was also good. Service great. ”

“We had a lovely week stay at Homelee lodge. 3 generations and there was something to do for everyone. Spacious, clean, and the most beautiful location. We were spoilt for choice with things to do- We explored beaches and lakes nearby, had a swim in the pool on-site, had so many lovely meals and drinks in the sun on the deck. My 2 year olds loved feeding the ducks everyday and zooming around the site on her scooter. Highly recommend if you’re wanting a relaxing, yet fun family holiday!”

“Probably the best food at a service station in the UK. The second best is the farm shop one near Carlisle on the M6 but its a lot more pricey. Get a meal here, it's really nice. I don't drive a truck either ”

“The room was lovely. Shower a bit small in the en suite but otherwise tip top. I was worried about being over a pub but needn’t have been. Good night’s sleep and no trouble at all. Hospitality ok. A bit stilted and not overly welcoming on arrival and service at breakfast was a bit high and mighty but still decent enough. Note the door into the bar for breakfast isn’t locked, despite looking like it is. Why they don’t just open it I don’t know but I could tell I was considered thick for not knowing this. Breakfast itself was excellent. However note you only have a 30 minute window (8.30-9.00) to take it and it’s the full English or nothing (apart from cereals). Not even a choice of eggs. Not a problem for us but best be aware of this. Quality of ingredients was excellent as was the cooking. Price was decent too. Overall very good.”

“Lovely tranquil place, well looked after, dog friendly with easy access to the lake district. On site restaurant is closed monday and tuesday. We were in a lakeside lodge which was fab. Local supermarkets 5 minute drive away in Carnforth. We didnt use the pool or spa facilities but they appeared popular. Would recommend.”

“I can't comment on rooms as I didn't stay here. Met up with friends for a meal. Both food and service were very good and good value for money. I would suggest putting post code in your sat nav as its not the easiest place to find, especially in the dark.”
