Overall food was tasty, however the fish was deep fried too much. My son and I struggled to cut the fish. Also the Tartare sauce was awful - like reused coleslaw. My wife had a very nice cooked dinner. Frustrating waitress did not ask if we wanted sauces.

Couldn't get served for 10 mins and staff from kitchen smoking and swearing not been for years but heard it had been taken over so gave it a chance , never again walked out . More

Been many times to C&B over more than 46 years, have experienced great food and not so great food. Been 3 times in the last 3 weeks and the food and service have been excellent Today we went for a Su day roast fantastic two meals, one lamb and one chicken £23. Hopefully onwards and upwards

5 of us dined on 17th December, we were surprised as this was advertised as a ?Christmas ? event that there was no turkey on the roast dinner menu I had advised when I booked that we had one gluten free diner (for a coeliac not just a fad by the way) - there was no gluten free bread or rolls available at all - maybe keep some in the freezer - just a thought. The guy serving us was apologetic and we found the service to be friendly albeit a bit harassed- I think they might have been understaffed but we had no complaints about the service Having said all this we enjoyed our meals and our gluten free son was delighted to have gluten free cheesecake which apparently is hardly ever on menus Good value for money - will try again after Christmas

I went to the cock and bottle as heard was rejuvenated with new menu etc, the kitchen staff were rude and uninterested arguing in and outside like faulty towers, food was average and impossible to get served worst meal ever

Arrived 35 minutes early but was accommodated early. ? Unfortunately down hill from there 8 adults 2 children £280 Meals very poor quality roast beef dinner inedible, fish very small, chips frozen cheap and bitty, burgers okayish but buns burnt. Waited ages for knives forks and sauces Unfortunately I can?t give any positives Gutted

We visited on a Saturday night when the band was playing. It was a fabulous band playing some great covers so there was quite a few people dancing as well! We ordered the pizza's which were really delicious with fresh ingredients on a handmade pizza base. Everything was lovely and if anything we would've liked a second vegetarian choice. My husband and daughter are 'real ale' fans and so they were pleased that there were a few to choose from and the prices were very good too! It's so lovely to see the place getting busier and busier - we took our dogs with us as well! What's not to love about the place - it has a fabulous atmosphere and we will be going back again next week

We booked a Christmas party for our caravan club members back in August we paid and also sent menu choices for all our party. This consisted of 27 adults and one child plus a baby I was assured when I booked that we would all be seated together. When we arrived on the Saturday 2nd December with our party via a coach not enough seats were available leaving 6 of our party sitting in a completely different area of the restaurant. The staff set our table with Christmas crackers and table wear, our meal began. The starters and mains arrived these were very nice. The dessert arrived Christmas puddings was very short of custard. We had to request 3 times for some additional custard, one of our party was having fruit crumble this was totally inedible it had numerous pieces of greaseproof paper in the crumble at first we thought it was skin from the rhubarb but on closer inspection we found it was indeed greaseproof paper. We called over the manager who took the dish away. On his return said the chef said it was apple skin, no apologies or offer to replace the dish with an alternative. We told him that it was not apple skin and was definitely paper the pieces were for too large and of the wrong consistency. Having dined here on a previous occasion thought it would be suitable for our festive meal. How wrong was I, I?m just sorry I recommended the place.

Fantastic food last night, lovely menu choice and set in a cosy christmassy atmosphere. Staff are all really friendly and helpful. Dave quiz master is ace. We are back again tonight for a function and taking my Westie can't wait.

Good food, good service, pleasant atmosphere. Visited a couple of times recently and the standard is still high but forgot what we had, but we'd have them again, or probably try something new nest time. Haven't tried the beers because I was driving. Easy, lit parking, easy wheelchair access from the car park. Recommend a visit to eat.

My husband and I visited on a Sunday so opted for a Roast. We usually go to another place, but came here as haven?t been for years. The building itself is greatly improved, but I have to complain that the roast beef was really tough and couldn?t be cut, let alone be chewed and swallowed. My husband left the whole lot on the plate?.how they can serve it that way astonishes me! I also requested some more gravy as we only received a small amount. However I was told to go back to the till which I presume meant that we had to pay for more gravy (not enough to start with). Surely a little bit more hot water on some gravy granuals wouldn?t be too much trouble for a meal that wasn?t cheap! I was going to complain to the waitress but my husband didn?t want the grief so I have left my views of the place on here. Suffice to say we shall not be returning!!! Lost customers!!!

Been hearing good things so thought we would give it a go. Me & the wife had beef absolutely amazing, the kids all had burgers of the main menu and they was huge and very delicious Portion size for price is great and can?t fault anything at all

Steak pie was good with decent meat in it. Veg was tasty and gravy piping hot Slightly over priced but a good meal nevertheless Children?s chicken nuggets were ok
