Just spent a week at Holgates at Silverdale, and it was faultless.
I was in my touring caravan, pitches were fine, didn?t feel overcrowded, not a fan of stone chips but see the reasoning.
Facilities were always clean, pool fab, staff friendly. The food was fantastic, had several meals, each one great - ice cream a firm favourite! Shop well stocked and prices were not inflated. Perfect for families and adults alike. A*

The food in the restaurant at Holgates Holiday Park is all cooked fresh-to-order. It is not pre-prepared and frozen. The range of food on offer is excellent, in both the range of food on offer and the portion sizes, with a childrens' menu, a Lite Bite menu and a full-size evening menu.
The swimming pool is idyllic for individuals and for families.
The scope for youngsters to enjoy themselves here is marvellous.

Lovely Weekend Getaway ? Stunning Views and Great Facilities
We had a fantastic weekend away at this caravan site! The pitches were excellent, and we were lucky enough to have one with the most amazing view ? it really made our stay extra special.
The facilities on site were great too. The swimming pool, bowling alley, on-site shop, and both kids? parks kept the whole family entertained throughout the weekend. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and easy to access.
The only downside we experienced was that some visitors didn?t stick to the 5mph speed limit and seemed to treat the road loop like a racetrack. We did raise this with reception, and hopefully it?s something that will be monitored more closely going forward. Our suggestion would be more signs to reminder drivers.
Aside from that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again!

Pitches not level hard to level a 7.3 meter motorhome. Don't like that you can't reserve a pitch as when we arrived it was busy and small vans were taking up the large pitches. The site overall is loverly

Be Aware.
Towing a touring caravan with a campervan ,u need to pay for another pitch, just got back from a 2 day trip ,to Holgates Caravan Park , was told park my campervan ,in the car park as not allowed on the site there opinion it?s a commercial van because its got no side windows ,only 1 on the roof ,car park 5/10 minutes walk or pay over £40 per day for another pitch, which we did for security for the van and stuff inside, never had this problem for years with other camp sites ,mid week not many on the site , just a money making scam , we didn?t know when booking.we would need to pay twice, won?t be returning ,cheaper in a hotel ,

We had a lovely time for 2 nights with our two girls aged 7 & 4. The weather wasn?t great but that didn?t affect how much the girls loved the bunk beds, swimming and bowling. Everything was extremely clean, the staff were really friendly and helpful. Highly recommend for a great trip away and our trips to Cartmel and other beautiful surrounding areas made the location perfect.

Touring caravan
The roads are quite scary towing to get to Holgates.
When i phoned to book my daughter on a tent pitch I was told there's no availability but they do have one 5-10 min walk away, arrived and then found out the tent pitch 5-10 mins away you have to walk over 2 fields in the pitch black. Be warned if they offer this other camp site .
Annoyed to not have been informed properly.
The bar restaurant feels like a butlins absalutely full of kids and although it advertises to
be pet friendly there's no dogs allowed in so if it's raining like the last 3 days it's not possible even if you wanted to go in and eat or have a drink.
I booked due to the reviews but didn't realise there's literally nothing around and don't really understand the good reviews, have been to lots of campsites and this feels very segregated and just stone.
Really dissapointed.
Staff tried to help regarding being misinformed but unable to do anything with being fully booked.

Booked a Motorhome pitch and stayed for 4 nights at Silverdale. The campsite was fabulous, spotlessly clean, well maintained and serviced.
No problem with any of the services.
Good food, great shop, beautiful location, friendly and helpful staff. Only one very minor observation, food in the restaurant is high price.
Everything else is excellent.

Beautiful stay in deluxe dens, The Burrow. Accommodation as described and perfect for what we needed. Large veranda with 6 chairs which got the afternoon sun, ample space for 2 cars to park, mezzanine beds and fold down bed in dining area particularly comfortable. Sofa bed fine for a night or 2. Plenty kitchenware.
1st and 2nd night there were 2 adults 2 kids, 3rd night 2 additional adults. I'd say it's ideal for 4 without everyone having to be up and super organised to still get on.
The park is beautiful and not crowded, the staff are friendly, beach is 5 minute walk and lots of other walks. Bowling was great, shop was stocked well, restaurant and bar were good with lots of choice, kids enjoyed the swimming and the parks.
A little warning on the mainly single track roads/road closures would be a great addition to communications.
Will definitely look to come back to Silverdale or one of the other Holgates parks. Highly recommend.
