I went into TK Maxx today to buy a pair of tweezerman nail clippers which were retailed for £15 and were being sold for £4 (which is a great deal) was completely denied at the till. The cashier, a redhead with black square glasses (didn?t catch her name), told me I needed to show ID to purchase them. I was obviously confused so I asked, ?How old do you have to be to buy nail clippers?? She replied, ?18.?
What? There is no UK law that says you have to be 18 to buy nail clippers. They are not knives, not restricted items, and definitely not dangerous tools. You can buy them freely in supermarkets, pharmacies, and convenience stores with no questions asked.
Instead of giving me a real explanation I was refused over a completely made-up policy with zero basis in law. It is beyond frustrating to be treated like this especially when the staff are clearly misinformed.
TK Maxx, if you are going to invent rules at least make sure they have some grounding in reality. Train your staff properly. Turning away customers over fictional age restrictions is not only embarrassing, it is just bad business.
Sort it out.

Need to spend some time in here, but can pick up some good bargains. Particularly good if you have time to look for kids clothes. Kids holiday clothes - 2 t-shirts and 2 pairs of shorts with socks and 2 caps. Also waterproof jackets all for £90

Not great. Was about the get a jacket, but most, and I mean most of the hangers have wrong size to whats hanging on. Like 1 of 5 is correct, incredible mess this store, left after 10 minutes as impossible to find your size, will not return for sure.
