Early start and early breakfast - fast and polite service with a decent breakfast to boot. Love the building character.

A great place for the city centre. You can walk in and get a meal with a drink at a reasonable price. Toilets downstairs, not sure if there is a lift. Grab a coffee and keep the refills coming.

I ordered a halloumi wrap which was tasty but extremely small. If I knew it was going to be so small I would have ordered something else to go with it. The staff have no leadership therefore it is very chaotic and the bar staff are very rude when you order. Someone needs to get a grip of this place as it is sadly going downhill. The Grey Friar at the bottom of Friargate is much more friendly and welcoming as the staff are well supervised.

My son and I purchased a Thursday curry deal, ,which includes a drink. When the meal arrived ( on COLD plates) the rice was luke warm /cool, naan bread soggy and cold , burnt onion bhajis and rock hard samosas. Asked for replacement bhajis and samosas - the manager returned with said items in exactly the same condition. not satisfied we then asked the manager for the meal refund , though willing to pay for the drinks . He refused our request insisting the items are done to "SPEC" If cold plates , soggy naan bread , burnt bhajis and rock hard samosas are the "SPEC" the "SPEC " needs reviewing!! Not only refusing our reasonable request , also refused to furnish us with his name. I myself have been using Wetherspoons for well in excess of 25 plus years, never meeting a manager like this whom could not deal with a simple problem . A few days later , noticing on the receipt the duty managers name contacted Twelve Tellers and managed to speak to same manager whom refused our refund request. After a conversation with him , said he was willing to furnish refund , gave all details requested , and here we are THREE weeks on still waiting !! If you are hungry , stay hungry and dine elsewhere !!

This large Wetherspoons is 10 to 12 minutes' walk from Preston's historic railway station. I enjoyed a meat lovers' pizza, being careful to ask for the chillies to be eliminated. It came with a hzlf pint of beer. Yhe downstairs toilets were clean. The pub was moderatly busy on a Thursday night.

That was the best full English breakfast I've had since Gary Wilmot's wedding.Minor criticism, more distance between the egg and the beans. I may want to mix them but that's my decision. Use the sausage as a breakwater.

The building was interesting but somebody disabled would have no chance of getting down all those stairs to the toilets. The food was poor, steak and kidney pudding just like a small upside down pie with few, gristly bits of bad meat inside and the whole, very small, plateful like something you could produce on a campfire. The apple crumble and custard was equally poor and well worth avoiding. The best bit was the refillable hot drink. According to the girl who brought our food, there was salt and condiments "over there", waved in the general direction of the other side of the room. The service was quite fast though.

TV on far to loud, food came out missing items, mushroom literally raw, 1 coffee machine out of order, the other made coffee like dish water.

I visit this pub twice a month, recently there has been a marked drop in cleanliness, the tables are dirty,as is the garden area, with rubbish(cig butts) strife.

Stunning building and such a nice place to relax and eat in. I'm glad they've retained a lot of the original features and historical aspects of the former Bank. It's an interesting and quirky place to say the least. No problems at all with the food or drinks. Service was great as well and toilets were spotless.Parking: We got the Park and Ride into the City Centre but due to the location of this Wetherspoon's you ideally need to park up and walk to it.

To start . I have never been to a wetherspoons before . I hear that the breakfast are good , but I don't know what rest of food is like. So a review based on two of us, Wednesday and whilst a first for me a visit to the chain, I do understand my friend has been here before. So the pub has loads of cameras, when one might give a low review, then it can't be ,oh it's a fake review. Just review the footage. Table 69. So order .... Two burgers, there's a hot chicken one for me, the heatwave burger , my friend the BBQ sauce version. On the. App , it was clear for the BBQ version, go through .. remove onion... So no onion. .... Several mins later we were approached by a server stating ... we have no cheese (only to friend ordering the BBQ version). Insert conversation, no cheese ... wetherspoons, local shop , pre package cheese and yet the chain has no cheese ... ... So no cheese for the bbq burger . Don't eat onions. That was made clear . No onion. ... Order for person , no onions, burger , no onion, .. etc . Me chicken 4 hot chili burger (heatwave chicken). So table 69. Order delivered, .. Friend plate . Chips and onion rings. (Shall I mention the no onion above). So all rings passed to other plate . (As above no cheese as described by server . No cheese available for the BBQ burger), but somehow cheese was on mine, the heatwave burger had cheese. Now , I want people to picture burger (insert horse other pub , or food of last few years) of yesteryear, the burger used to be of 6 plus inches (insert toothpick to hold closed). Remember burgers of two or so years ago.. the height , the patties , the stacking, many inch of burger. Nom. ... Ahem ,flat entity (about an inch) with chicken wing on side (yes single small wing) chips , onion rings. Flat burger. Wholly disappointing from expectation. .... So upon eating. Again as they have cameras ... my Chicken was very very dry . You can clearly see me eating and vocalising that it's dry, as well as struggling on a dry chicken. Dry mouth and needing a drink .. Took a while to finish as the chicken was very dry, had another drink (cherry pepsi) . But ... No ,not one for another visit. So ... Table 69 shows the above . Shows the swap of onion rings (which should not be on the other plate (as order clearly said no onion) for a single wing . Clearly will show dryness of the chicken , Clearly will show fixing dryness with a drink. So honest review, disappointed. Friend paid card (on app), see if refund given. Btw the app on scanning the card didn't work , so had to be put in manually. Yes I should have bought it up whilst there, but new staff (and our server was new) can make that awkward.

We've only been here 3 times but we've thoroughly enjoyed every visit ! We now travel from Blackpool for a bite to eat and a drink. The prices are fantastic and the food is delicious. Also the staff are polite, the service is great. Better than our local Wetherspoons. The place has character. It's history is pretty awesome. Looking forward to more visits.

What can say " it's a wetherspoons " large place with over 80 tables . Older members of the public during the day. Younger people during the evenings and weekends.
