Cannot grumble. Rooms are a little dated but comfortable. I could only get warm or hot water out of the tap but they gave me a bottle of water for the kettle. Food was good, locally sourced. The only down side was that there is a water treatment plant opposite which I noticed on the first night.Rooms: Double bed. Desk. TV. Walk-in shower.Food & drinks: Had pancakes and sausages for breakfast. Sausages were of high quality. Burger for evening meal which tasted fantastic.Noteworthy details: I'm sure it's not part of their hospitality but when I took a phone call and walked around the back there was a car park full of ducks.

Lovely room but service was not so good. Wrote this three years ago.Had to come here for one night as all other hotels were booked. This was my sign to never come back again. Did not sleep a wink thanks to the uncomfortable tiny bed and thin walls. Window was not properly sealed, letting a draught in and noise too. Could hear footsteps in the corridor and to top it off there was a blaring alarm at 4:30 AM! No apologies from the hotel or no info about what happened. A joke of a place. £70 at Premier inn and a bigger room with a much nicer bathroom. BYYYEEE

The sheets had some marks on them so we changed rooms no problem. Rooms were fine but no heating at night so could get a bit cold. Bathrooms modern with good power shower but let down by the paint peeling from the bottom of the bathroom door. They need to sort that out.

The first thing we noticed was the smell from the local effluent treatment plant. The smell does invade the hotel but that's just an unfortunate result of it's location. A warmer welcome at reception would have made a more positive impression but instead the receptionist just checked us in without any pleasantries or welcoming chat. The bar and waiting staff were very hospitable and made sure to ask if everything was ok or whether we needed anything more.As for the hotel bedroom, it was clean and contemporary, however there were no biscuits, bottled water and a shortage of milk to make a hot drink. The other issue was that we only had 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel for a 2 person booking so had to go to reception to request more towels but was given a bath towel and 2 bath mat towels. The Breakfast menu had the usual breakfast variety and was enjoyed. For a budget sleepover, business stopover this hotel is fine in terms of location to the M6 but attention to detail by some of the staff would make all the difference.

I had a toilet break there and it was an ok toilet.Update Monday 30th October 2023:I visited the Salmesbury Preston Hotel on Monday 30th October 2023 and it was a most enjoyable experience. The hotel is on the A59 just off junction 31 heading towards Blackburn and Samlesbury. It easy to locate being just before the roundabout at the Esso Five Barred Gate Salmsbury petrol station. There is a good sized car park with ample car parking spaces. The hotel is very nice inside with a nice restaurant and bar.I had a pot of tea and a bowl of soup. The soup was tomato and basil soup. The two people that I met had flat white coffees and sandwiches. The sandwiches were cheese and tomato and beef on wholemeal bread. Both sandwiches came with salad and potato crisps. The tea, coffee, soup and sandwiches were excellent. The service from the staff was excellent as well. There were no complaints at all from myself or the people who I met about the hotel facilities, drinks, food or service that we received. There is also free wifi throughout the hotel. There are toilet facilities at the hotel and the toilets are clean and well maintained.I would recommend a visit to the Samlesbury Preston Hotel.

I stayed for one night during a work trip and felt quite uncomfortable during my stay here.Staff were work-shy and impolite, and were reluctant when asked to help (I just wanted to order a drink at the bar - at 7pm - but we had to find someone to help me and I was made to feel irritating). The bed was comfortable but the room was full of cobwebs and hardly felt cleaned besides making the bed, and there was no drinking water provided.Breakfast was particularly difficult for me as a celiac (no gluten) - there was no allergen guide and no staff to ask about it.

Unless there's no where else, don't stay here. The public areas have had a recent make over but this hotel is shabby and tired. I had a "privilege" roomIt has an empty fridge (not even a bottle of water) a window that doesn't close and peeling paint. Can't imagine what the others are like! The car park is huge, it has many flood lights but most do not work making it a very scary place at night.

Friendly hotel.Attentive employees.I booked a room adapted for people with reduced mobility. The carpet does not allow the wheelchair to move. The wheelchair barely fits through the bedroom entrance door. The wheelchair does not fit in the bathroom. The entrance to the shower has a step.Hotel NOT recommended for people with reduced mobility. They shouldn't accept reservations ?? ?? ?? ?? .They are not well equipped.

After 2 visits in weeks for business the lift was still broken , reception staff was nowhere to be seen for 20 mins so had to wait to check in only to be told that she was multitasking, bar and restaurant staff very rude and made us uncomfortable, service with a smile NOT , the rooms r ok ,clean but not what they say they are , overall very disappointed for the price they charge .Nearby activities: Blackpool

Stayed here with a relative, booked 2 rooms for 1 night. Some staff members were polite but the lady who received us when we arrived may have been quite burnt out / not interested in her job and was missing any basic manners - it's never a good look if your staff are incapable of being at least as polite as your guests. It was difficult to tolerate how the key cards used to enter the 2 rooms could fail for a total of 5 times over the duration of an overnight stay. Every time it failed guests are expected to return to the reception to get it reset, eventually this felt like some bizarre walking exercise that the hotel like to impose on guests. It also comes across as an on-going issue as staff seems to have gotten used to it.Room was generally clean-ish. Sheets were clean, no stains, but the shower heads had obvious build-up of scales and do not appear to have been cleaned in a long time. The bed was reasonably comfortable.Soundproofing is poor, conversations and noise from the TV (even in low volume) from next door only gets slightly dulled, so if you have to stay here, consider bringing ear plugs.Breakfast was nothing to write home about. Will fill your stomach. There's on-site parking for free, but as the hotel would warn you, spaces are limited.
