God awful place! Reception staff are so rude and seem to take the greatest delight in telling you it?s 4 weeks to get an appointment unless I say it?s an emergency. When you eventually do get past the power hungry, unhelpful ?gate keeps? on reception the GPs command over the English language is so poor it?s hard/impossible to communicate what is wrong in the first place.I have been a patient at this practice for 10 years but I?m going to have to look elsewhere!Thank god for Private Medical Insurance!!

I moved from this surgery to a better one at Ash Tree House because I found the reception staff rude and unhelpful. On one occasion I was at the surgery and asked to make an appointment, I was told to go home and ring in for one. When I said, I?m stood here, I was told, well you?ll have to wait. Today my wife rang for a repeat prescription and was curtly told she should have rung before 3pm and she won?t get it until Monday now. The fact that my wife actually managed to ring at all is impressive as she has been in Blackpool Vic all week poorly and will not get out until Monday, a point she did bring to there attention. No need to be curt with people at the best of times, definitely not needed when you?re ill.

My 12 year old son has been having a lot of problems with his infected toe for a few months now and is in a lot of pain.I have rang the surgery on many occasions and I have spoken to a polite and caring receptionist called Jane .She always gets him an appointment as soon as she can and she goes above and beyond to try and help.I am extremely gratefulThank you

This is simply the best GP practice around. I?ve been registered here for 23 years and always had excellent care, support and advice. The reception staff are understanding, compassionate and friendly. The Doctors are all great and especially Dr Tobin, I actually look forward to seeing him, he?s relaxed and makes me relax and I always have answers or a resolution. Likewise the Nurses also follow the same ethos. It?s a shame all GP surgeries don?t operate this way!!

As all the other reviews, receptionist it extremely rude over the phone and in person. I could say more but I?m more professional and polite. Disgrace of a nhs service

Dr Tobin has been exceptionally rude to my ill relative this week and I've a good mind to take this further. Disgusting behaviour.

You cannot expect a surgery to adequately function when the Practice Manager brings you down. An appointment was cancelled after having it for 1 month, the morning of the appointment. I was given another date and told to 'take it or leave it'. This surgery delivers no care, compassion or stability to and for the patients they treat. The receptionists are rude, abrupt and will make excuses that aren't justified, essentially because they can. They ask clinical questions that fall outside of a typical triage and make assumptions on what care a patient needs, when they hold zero clinical training. They are lead by a Practice Manager who is sarcastic, condescending and is ultimately responsible for the failing state of the surgery. The cancellation of appointments due to a lack of staffing resilience or backup is utterly detrimental to a patient's health and they should be ashamed of the service they deliver. People's lives are being treated as if they don't matter and this surgery's practices are unsafe. If you would like to have your appointments cancelled the same day, be disrespected, condescended and treated as if you don't matter, make haste and register here for some good 1.5/5 healthcare. If you value your health and believe as as service user, you should be treated with dignity and respect by a surgery that has both professional and clinical resilience, register elsewhere. Kirkham Health Centre is contributing towards a failing NHS, but as long as they get paid, who cares, right?Shocking surgery, shocking staff and an absolute embarrassment to healthcare. No backup plans, no resilience, just another sub-standard failure.

Vile reception staff. As a practice, this is a bit of a shambles. The reception team although completely untrained will tell you that your situation isn't an emergency. When I have spoken to friends who are GPs about this they have been horrified. Not only is the reception team vile, they are also dangerous - despite spelling my name and confirming it with the team they still got it wrong for my appointment. They are also rude and dismissive with a very snarky nature. I would happily go to the Drs in this practice but I go elsewhere as I have had so many unpleasant experiences of the reception team.

I?ve had nothing but good experiences in my 6 years with this practice. They?ve all been fantastic with our whole family, great waiting times for appointments and excellent telephone triage from the wonderful nurses. Thank you to all the team

God awful surgery. Mistakes constantly, rude receptionists, terrible medical advice and misdiagnosis, missing prescriptions, diagnosis history of errors. Utter shambles.

I registered with this practice some 16 months ago but had not actually used the service until yesterday. The reception staff were helpful and friendly. I explained my situation, they listened and I was given an appointment for the following day which I felt was very acceptable. When I attended for my appointment today, despite the reception being busy with a queue of patients, others coming and going plus telephone calls I was again greeted by a very pleasant and helpful receptionist. Thank you. I should also say when I saw the GP, Dr Hardwicke, he was down to earth, easy to understand, gave sound and straightforward advice. I went in the surgery with some apprehension but left feeling much relieved. Thank you to all concerned.
