It?s a shame to have to write this as Iv never had a problem with this store before but the way this woman made me feel in front of 30ish people all waiting to be served is embarrassing and made me look like an idiot.
I would like to flag a complaint about the service received at this branch.
It started when I was at the till, the girl in the till scanned my things through, I told her I was paying card (Apple Pay) I tapped it pinged stood there she said you?ve not done it! I said I did it pinged and a tick showed on my screen. She said u need to do it again. Tapped it and it pinged again with the tick, stood there she said you?ve need to pay! (In a rude tone) I said iv tapped it twice already and it pinged both times. So did it a third time same thing. She then said I will have to cancel it and re-scan everything which she did then come back to the payment. Tapped my phone again and it pinged still nothing did it another time still nothing. She called a manage her over. I think her name was Dorinda, tapped my card again it pinged still nothing, the manager then said it?s your card. No one else has had any other problems. To which I replied, I?ve used my card into other stores no issues I have money in my account. It can?t be my card to which she aggressively responded. No see it says card failed it?s your card. I said it?s not my card can you take me to another till and try it because it?s not my card and also this is holding up the queue that was getting bigger and bigger and bigger she responded no I can?t those two tills are broken, you?ll have to to join the queue again. I said I?m not joining the queue again. It?s halfway down the aisles. Can you not just take me to one of the other girls and just ask them to serve me next as I?ve already waited my turn. She responded with well people might get annoyed so I don?t know. I said well can you not take me over to which she yelled to one of the girls, Can you serve this lady in the green coat next. I didn?t know which one she was talking to I asked her which one she was talking to she ignored me standing and watching the next customer get served as if to prove me wrong. So I said to the girls, which one should I come to? I had to explain to the two ladies in the queue why I was coming over. They then proceeded to tell me that this woman is always rude and then the queue was so big, they called for another member of staff to come onto the tills and low and behold she sat on one of the ?broken? till?s and served me. And just prove that it wasn?t my card that was the problem my transaction on this till went through on the first try and to add injury to insult Dorinda then brought the guy behind me on the original till over to my till to get served because the card machine wasn?t working for him either Thus failing to prove me wrong and only proving herself wrong no apology no nothing just made to feel like I was an issue. And make me look like a fool to all those standing in line thinking I was the problem.
I work in a supermarket and where I work the manager or team leader would have come took all the customers items to another till and scanned them through. ( this would stop the customer from being embarrassed in front of everyone especially when it?s not their fault, but also to prevent a build up on other customers being served. But what is more annoying is she lied and said the two till not having n use were broke so she couldn?t take me over to them to try but then I end up being served on one of the ?broken? tills and it worked first time for me.
I would like resolutions in place in the form of compensation for the humiliation I faced and the way I was spoken to and treated, but also for re training on customer service skills and problem solving of issues. Because to blame the customer is disgraceful.
I sent this to complaints at home bargains and for the bog standard reply, and fob off, so I have come here to share my experience

Love the Capitol Centre Home Bargains Preston it has such a good choice of everything.The cafe is very reasonable too. Nice friendly staff.

absolutely disgusting service .. went to buy a product and they didn't have it . i left the shop .. then came back 20 minutes later to purchase something else and the manager accused me of stealing from the shop and said i was causing trouble,, i was actually on a 30 minute lunch break from work .. i was refused service and then i was assaulted by what he claimed to be an undercover security guard , i have video evidence and will be pursuing this incident to the fullest . i have emailed head office ,, awaiting a reply .. terrible service , manager lied and told police that i was aggressive and shouting . i have a disability and when i mentioned this the manager said i was lying about that in front of other customers . i am a vulnerable customer as well .very very very bad customer service. i work in customer service and this is definitely not acceptablebasically the manager discriminated against me and stereo typed me as she accused me of stealingdiscrimination all over ,, the manager only.. all other staff are awesome

I'd like to thank a certain employee, rain. Rain is always open to small talk and just an all round nice person, it's always nice to be greeted with, I very much appreciate the service of rain and many of the other great employees that help maintain, restock and keep the home bargains a good environment, a great place to stop at if you need anything

Always cheap and cheerful. Top brands at great prices. This store chain seems to be getting bigger and better with more lines being introduced each day.

Busy city center store. Good selection of varied items for sale. Not always the cheapest on certain items ,but overall value for city center location usually very busy and often long queues at tills
