Garden centre with reasonable cafe. Good cappuccino. Nice to walk around.

Expensive for what you get, especially in bedding and clothing. Cafe ordering system hopeless. Gave up after 10 minutes queuing for coffee and cake as five people in front still waiting to be served whilst the customer at the front was debating with the single server merits of the various sandwiches. Don't bother at the weekend.

So Dobbies, let's start off by saying my review is taking place in March so at the moment in the UK the weather is bleak, so garden centres are never really at their best anyway. Dobbies has a wide variety of products available and yet with being a huge store it can at times feel sparse. On the ground floor the staff try their best with what's available, in regards to decor/shelving/displays etc but I have a feeling the owners don't want to spend any money on the actual store, it's looking very tired and dated, and the carpet is disgusting, stained beyond belief!. I cannot fault the staff though, they are pleasant and nearly all of them wish you 'Good Morning'. We used the cafe also, again I cannot fault the staff, they are friendly and try their best even though it's woefully understaffed and the cafe setup is terrible and creates long waiting times etc. The food is what you would expect, it's never going to be Michelin star but it tastes alright, price wise it's a little expensive. Again though the cafe needs a revamp, it's tired, dated and slightly unwelcoming like the rest of the store. Come on owners, get your hand in your pocket and give the staff and customers what they deserve - a nicer place to shop and a nicer place to work!

Garden shop plus cotton traders, regatta etc all very good.Only let down by the cafe unfortunately, 4 drinks and 4 biscuits was £22 bit expensive but we were happy enough. Unfortunately this was further let down by lengthy wait for drinks to be delivered, 24 minutes after paying we received our drinks. The drinks were hot and tasty but definitely too long to wait

Lovely garden centre with lots of choice. The cafe however? well, a very strange system of ordering. Food came after 2 mins. We waited another 25 minutes for coffee and tea to arrive, the same as all the other customers. Staff lovely and very helpful, let down by the coffee machines that can?t make them quick enough.Think a better system is needed for such a big company.

We went to Dobbies near Kirkham today for Sunday lunch and were very pleased with the food. We have been here before for meals and they have always been great. The sunday lunch is £12.95 and I think it's very good value. They do seem to be short of staff in the restaurant as there was a long queue to order - although another person came on to open another till so that speeded things up. A lady in front of me asked for some lemon slices for the water and this was happily supplied. When they are busy there does seem to be an issue with clearing away used items from tables so this gives an unfortunate impression but the problem is that the staff only have one pair of hands and they do their best given the demands placed on them. If the owner invested in more staff then I suspect that the reviews would be more positive .

Not been here for a while...won't be going again. So disappointed with the cafe/restaurant. Over 20 tables had dirty crockery on them. They needed clearing. When are drinks came, we were told there were no saucers!!!! All dirty by the look of the tables. The place was scruffy and untidy. I presume they were short staffed. The place looked awful.

Really disappointed! The cafe looks and is filthy! Cutlery not dried off and polished before putting in the Cutlery trays. I had to wait a long time for my coffee after having my scone, would have liked both at the same time. The coffee not great either, I believe it's served out of a machine. I wouldn't like to visit the kitchen. I think the staffing needs to be looked at and they need to be trained up in how to clear tables as they go.otables but not then looking around at what they can c

Have stood in the queue for 20 minutes to pay for food and order drinks just to be told further 20 minutes until drinks will arrive. Do I put food back? Wait? Girls on drinks counter having a jolly time. Glad to see they enjoy their work at least. In contrast?.Lovely, conscientious hard working gentleman on tills now cleaning tables for all he?s worth (wears black framed specs). A keeper.

Very disappointed, used to love this garden centre, nice walk around get some fish food, grandson loved feeding the fish ( no longer there) then something to eat, and coffee/ cake, the food is good the staff are pleasant but it was bad before but now it?s awful, it needs a total overhaul if not clean it, the dirt on the base of the table and chairs unbelievable, the pots left all the time we were there, so very sad.

Lots on offer, but too pricey for a regular shop for me.

We pay for a card that gives us 2 free drinks in the cafe, though we don't go as frequently as we used to.There's a definite feeling of closing down. Lots of clearance lines and empty shelves.Cafe area too is looking tired and worn. The coffee though was lovely, the staff were pleasant and helpful, and much of this garden centre is dog friendly. If this review was helpful, please give it a like below.
