Went in to speak to someone about opening a bank account and had the appointment booked. Spent over 30 mins trying to open the account on my own through the app which woundt let me for some reason and didn't really get much help. Wasted 30 mins of my day and still don't have a bank account open

I?d like to express my immense gratitude to Hazel, Magda, David, and another Lady of Brown heritage (I'm so sorry I cannot recollect your name.) at the Barclays Bank branch in Preston for their patience, understanding and assist in December 2024.
The issue was relating to my Wife's account. You were all
incredibly helpful and professional when assisting my Wife with an issue on her bank account which had been blocked owing to a misunderstanding. It was strictly on the merit of the information that we provided you, on the basis of which you unblocked the Account. However, during the entire process, we were both treated professionally and with absolute courtesy.
I am believer and from that day to this, I have tried to keep you in my prayers as much as possible and will continue to do so.

Very unprofessional and rude staff. Been with Barclays for nearly 20 years and I think it is a time to change the bank. Went today to solve the issue which I had it due to their system been down which ruined my holiday. I was told by unhelpful and rude member of staff to sort this problem online as they can?t do anything. After this visit I?ve contacted Barclays through my app, and I was told to go back to Preston Branch so they could take a copy of the evidence. I went back but sorry I won?t be spending all day waiting for someone to take copies while some staff are not doing anything.
Do yourself a favour and go with another bank who will treat you with respect.

Absolutely shocking customer service. Arrogant staff who think they are Rothschild bankers, didn?t even want to solve my issue or know about it, instead proceed to tell me there is nothing they can do, and I need to don?t online. Absolute disgrace no wonder the shop gets vandalised monthly! Whoever is running the place needs to get there staff in serious check.

The staff you have on the phones are awful, I spent 5 minutes explaining to a member on the fraud team what arbitration was only for her to say I?ve never heard this word. How can you have people there to answer questions when they don?t even know what the question means, 6-8 weeks for a fraud dispute, 10 weeks later I?m still getting the company trying to take money and all I get told is they can?t give me an answer yet absolute joke.

I recently visited Barclays for the first time to open an account, and, unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The atmosphere was unwelcoming, and some staff members seemed unprofessional and unfriendly. I had an unpleasant interaction with one employee (I believe her name was Raya or Raha), whose attitude was dismissive and unnecessarily loud when speaking with me. I felt disrespected and uncomfortable throughout the process.
This experience didn?t meet the standard I expected from a reputable bank like Barclays, and it made me question whether this is the right bank for my needs. I hope management addresses these issues to improve customer service in the future.

The employees at this bank are incredibly rude and arrogant. The Asian male employee who acts as though he owns the bank was dismissive and unhelpful when I wanted to enquire about opening a business account. I walked straight out and to another bank and was greeted warmly and started the process of opening my account. You've lost a customer. Probably many more with what I witnessed recently.
The same Asian male employee wearing a face mask was unbelievably rude and dismissive to some women who were together asking questions. The women were visibly upset. Then a few minutes later, two female employees were whispering to each other like playground bullies whilst looking towards the women. I felt second-hand embarrassment for what I witnessed at a place like a bank! The redhead employee talked down to the women. Not sure what it was about but if the women looked like the redhead, white and middle aged, perhaps they would've received better treatment. Shame on you Barclays for not training your staff on basic morals, ethics and professionalism.

Absolute terrible customer experience. All's I wanted was to manually withdraw money due to card breaking (yet again) and after being asked to wait I gave up 30 mins later. Wasted my whole dinner break from work and didn't even get seen by anyone. This is a task that should take 10 seconds.
