New refurb but still great friendly pub. Good atmosphere, food top notch and reasonably priced.

Went here for a day out we normally eat at the black bull as it?s nearer with living in Preston, I ordered at the bar, a guy with a pony tail called James was really rude, made me feel like I was annoying him, I ordered the lunch special but he read the desserts out so fast that I logged into the app to see what there was, his face was like stone, you?ve worked here two years as you told me when I thought I had a free drink in the app and ?I know what I?m saying is right? but you are more suited to a different job that doesn?t include the public because you don?t welcome people who are new to the place, I?m sure you are nice to all the ?regulars? but regulars start off as new customers, your whole demeanour was unwelcoming to the point I felt like walking out?.because of this one person I wont come here again, I?ll stick to the black bull where everyone is lovely, there was one lovely guy called Paul who brought the food out though and he was nice, I wasn?t feeling very well and to be honest I wish I hadn?t gone out, my husband was furious as it upset me so much, you shouldn?t feel stupid when you are spending your hard earned money on your day off!

Big party of 8 of us on Friday night - pre booked for a family reunion. We booked our food individually with our app the others ordered by going to the bar 30 mins after ours. There?s came first we had to wait another 45 mins . A 80 year old relative challenged the manager who turned very aggressive towards the pensioner about the wait time of the food. The manageress was very apologetic and could not do enough for us but the manager was really out of order shouting at an 80 year old when the pub was at fault not the pensioner - shame on you. Power obviously gone to his head.
Food eventually materialised meat was warm enough to eat but the veg and chips was stone cold.
The elderly people didn?t dare complain to manager but I would have if I?ve known .

Disappointed with the Fisherman's Catch last Saturday very dry seemed to have been sat under a warming lamp for a while having said that drinks were fine and staff efficient and friendly

Don't eat here.
The bar staff were good however the food is if possible below 1 star.
Waited 1 hr 40 mins for a Hot n Spicy Chicken Burger.
Looked like a slice of chicken - embarrassed to say I couldn't eat it and ended up spitting some of it out.
Was not prepared to wait another 1 hr 40 for a replacement. Waiting on staff did not come to ask how the food was.
Two friends were served Fish, peas and salad...the order was Fish, chips and peas....

My food was shocking. It was burnt lasagne with rock hard garlic bread and wilted salad, and the lasagne was no more than a child's size

Visited a second time as food and service was great on our first visit. Lovely cosy area by the fire. Most of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Good pub food and can definitely recommend the cheesecake.

Had my first visit to this pub and found it absolutely charming. The cozy log fire created a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing drink. The outdoor seating was spacious and well-maintained, ideal for enjoying a sunny day. Plus, the restrooms were clean and well-kept?a small but important detail. Overall, a great spot with plenty of character. Looking forward to returning!

The most ridiculous music playlist for a family food pub I?ve experienced. From normal background to fast dance music whilst people having there Sunday dinner. Read the room and dial it back, spoils what is a decent place.

The meal was absolutely rubbish. The fisher finger sandwich had mushy salad in it with mushy peas which all look frazzled. Thebes mushrooms my wife had once you open the crumb shell was just frazzled squashed mushrooms. The sea bass very small with skin on it and came with the mash (ordered) no veg. This was a 98 year olds meal he was totally ashamed that he had recommended the place in which he has shares. The other lady had the gammon most of which was left. Then the old boy wanted to use the toilet which was disgusting and hadn?t been flushed. Lynsey our waitress tried to help but we were 1 table of many complaining Yeah
