Right where to begin mrs went in due to having lost her card and she spoke to someone over call and they stated you need to go into branch so our address got changed and we forgot to update the address on her card so now they said you cant do it over phone by having a new card sent to a address they dont have go into branch show ID but ID has to be of old address and a new dated letter preferably last 6 months hows that possible when we moved from there almost 1 and a half years ago ? Makes no sense then when she took in driving license its not acceptable as its not got old address I said ok show a old letter not accepted as its more then 6 months old and then she goes bring 2nd form of ID ok took birth certificate of son no cant accept as its not hers ? you see ? Wasting our time ok next she goes to my mrs you need to bring more ID so what ? Passport yes and passport has to show old address passports dont display your address only driving license does proper unprofessional the staff were rude if you hate your job simple dont work there get a new job or go claim universal credit im so happy this branch is closing down so to end it she cant get a new card so shes moved banks and I will do the same as its unacceptable this isnt first time they done something as such once they changed my name on my bank changed an initial for no reason woudnt change it back took 6 months I lost £500 when I tried buying a house as bank woudnt accept it and to top it off halifax gave me £150 due to loss ? Again so happy they closing this branch I hope they dont give these lot jobs avoid.

Shockingly slow customer service only been twice and iv wasted 1 hour waiting each time, no privacy, the place is grubby too, everyone's stood so close to each other I can smell someone's breakfast

Never anything good with this branch! You read one thing online then are told completely different in branch. This is the most unhelpful bank I've ever had the misfortune to have to deal with. Staff don't seem to care (a you need us more than we need you attitude of staff seems to prevail).Once I've finished dealing with this bank I will never do again!

Went into the branch waited 10 minutes at the help desk to finally get to my turn and the woman behind the desk to be very rude and condescending and told me what I already knew wasted my time I?m just gonna change banks.

Updating this. Went into the bank to take some money out as I lost my card. Was treated like garbage by some thin, frail manager. Who told me to leave as I didn't havethe right ID to hand. He demanded my passport and council tax letter. I had my drivers license and water bill with me. Which I felt was sufficient. As driving license is an accepted form of ID everywhere and water bill having my name and address on it. Dated within a month too. Anyhow I was made to feel embarrassed and humiliated for no reason. To add to insult have been told they closing my account down. All for loosing my card and going in to take my money out.

What a positive and most helpful bunch of people. Made so welcome, apologies to EVERY customer for waiting during these challenging times. If you?ve got an issue they will go out of their way to help. What a contrast compared to BARCLAYS in Burnley.

The "help desk" is usually unstaffed (or there's a long queue). Otherwise good with friendly counter-staff. If you need help with something go to the Burnley branch which always has someone on the help desk.

halifax is a small bank in nelson which is located in a good place. its next to quite a few other banks. its has a cash machine outside, inside its a reasonable size and has many staff on board. i like the layout. it doesnt take very long to get served, custermer service is always great.
