Just moved to the area, thought we would go out for a meal local, was told to try the Dolphin Inn, Longton, we didnt book a table, when we arrived it was fairly quiet typical country pub, booked a meal at the bar,
I ordered a pea and ham soup and my wife ordered the patty, after 10mins, we was told they didnt have pea and ham soup, only mushroom, we also had ordered a chop meal and steak pie, the first course, soup and patty arrived after about 15mins and the soup was lupe warm, which I couldnt be bothered to asked them to reheat the soup, the second course came after 45mins after we had asked why it was taking so long, the chop was more bone then meat and the meat was mostly grissal, the steak pie had no taste to it, we didnt eat either and when we paid for it and complained, we were told they would let the chef know, we were not offered a refund or an appology, we wont be back any time soon.

I rang the dolphin at pretty short notice hoping to see if they could accommodate a group of 14 ( family ) ,, they fitted us in no problem at a time convenient for them and for my group ,, upon our arrival we were greeted with a large table all set out with exactly 14 seats ,,,the whole group had nothing but good words for the food, the service and the whole experience , meals varied from various burgers , fish and chips and Sunday roast ,, their wasn't 1 complaint from anyone at all ,, well done Dolphin Inn ,, and thank you ,,
