I travelled to the gym from Blackpool I own a full year membership . I went in for the first time in a couple of weeks I was ready to scan my card and they staff member said I couldn?t go inside, they explained that I was too late past 15:00 so I couldn?t get in I was currently there at 15:05 . I feel like this has been a waste of my money and my time and they said I could not go in bare in mind they close at 16:00 . Not good, will not be returning!

Decent gym but always seems too busy, even during the day. Lytham and the pool gym are much quieter.

Great gym for the price, membership covers all the YMCA's on the fylde Coast, however swimming will cost additional.Pretty good gym with a fair amount of equipment. Can get busy, especially as it's January at the moment.Classes are held throughout the day, download the fylde YMCA app and it'll show you what classes are on etc. Also book classes through the app too!Had to take a star off, only because people seem to book multiple classes and don't actually turn up, leaving people on the waiting list not able to do the classes. Issue has been raised by numerous people I know but nothing gets done about it and no repercussions ?

Been attending for a month now. I'm happy with St Alban's Road YMCA gym.The only issue I've found is that when there are more than 15-ish people in the gym, it's impossible to complete a workout. Variety is good, but only having one of every machine (or "most" machines anyway) is making it difficult. I've not seen all of the treadmills being simultaneously used since I joined, which means at least one of them could be replaced with a new piece of equipment. Just to optimize the opportunities for their gym-goers.I could be totally wrong and that there's never enough treadmills, but this has been my user experience.Otherwise, the staff are polite and the equipment is clean. The opening hours are ok and the fact that you also gain admission to all other local YMCA gyms in Fylde is pretty cool.

Overall disappointed with the gym. I am a member and booking swim times is fraught with difficulty. The first time I turned up to swim and the pool was fully booked out with children's groups. (Surely with such a large pool they can cater for kids and members separately. The second time I booked the pool I turned up at the appointed time and they were cleaning the pool so I could not swim. It is a bit of a nightmare as I am unable to swim on a regular basis around 5-7pm just after work which is the best time for me. The staff aren't over friendly or helpful, never crack a smile just doing their jobs with minimum effort. So only worth 2 stars at the moment. Maybe that will change, who knows, probably not. The cafe is great as is the lady serving and the changing rooms are always clean and tidy and well maintained so you can have a star for that!

Attended as a Blood Donor so this review is really about the blood donation session - after all, you're told not to do anything strenuous after giving. Went on the bike, cycle parking is a bit of an after-thought - behind a row of cars so access is not easy. Blood donation session spot on - hardly any wait times, pleasant staff.

The YMCA runs a number of health and fitness facilities across the Fylde and they're all good. Friendly staff, good clean facilities. The State Anne's centre also has Harry's, a soft play centre, which my daughter loves.
