Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced in a shop.I bought 2 pairs of boots online and they were too narrow so I drove the 60+ minutes round trip to Lytham to return them, as this is now the closest store. The boots had arrived in 2 deliveries and one of the deliveries hadn't included an order note. This is how the conversation SHOULD have gone.Me: Hi, I'd like to return these boots please. I only have one order slip as that's all Clark's sentClarks: No problem at all. Do you have your email please and I can check the order that way.Me: Yes, here it is thanksClarks: No worries that's all refunded nowThis is how the conversation ACTUALLY went:Me: Hi, I'd like to return these boots please. I only have one order slip as that's all Clark's sentClarks (very bluntly with no apology): You can't return them if you don't have the slipMe (immediately annoyed because already because of the girl's awful attitude): I have the email confirming the order, surely that will doClarks (rudely): OK thenClarks: I can only refund one pairMe: Why?Clarks: Because the other pair aren't on the system.Me: Is there nothing you can do?Clarks: No. You ordered online so it's nothing to do with usMe: But you're Clarks and it said I could return to any storeClarks: You ordered online so it's nothing to do with us. We're a franchise. It's nothing to do with us. (the "it's nothing to do with us" line continued for a very long time)Long story short, she called the manager (who was her mum). They weren't going to do anything else to try and help. Basically computer says no. It wasn't until the first 5 minutes or so had passed before I heard a "sorry, we can't do this." Up to that point it was as though she really didn't care and I was inconveniencing them by even asking for a refund. Luckily there was another lady there who was lovely and understood that the way I was being dealt with was not how you treat customers and she intervened. She alone deserves 5 stars for being lovely.One week later I make the hour long trip again to see if I can return them now. This is how the conversation SHOULD have gone:Me: I'd like a refund pleaseClarks: No worries. What's your email address please so that I can check the order and make the refundMe: If there is any marketing with my email address can you opt me out pleaseClarks: Yes of course. Don't worry the email address is just to check your order and you won't be opted inThis is how it ACTUALLY wentMe: I'd like a refund pleaseClarks: What's your email address (she didn't say why she wanted it)Me: If there is any marketing with my email address can you opt me out please (because she hadn't told me why she wanted it, I had no idea what she was doing with it and lots of companies opt you into marketing when they take your email address. Asking to opt out is completely normal)Clarks: What?Me: If there is any marketing with me email address can you opt me put pleaseClarks (clearly annoyed): There's nothing like thatClarks: you were here before weren't you. A member of my staff (aka the daughter who was rude in the first conversation) was upsetAnd so the conversation went on and it was all my fault that her daughter was upset. The daughter and her lack of customer service weren't to blame of course. Nor did it matter that I was upset at the way I'd been rudely treated from the minute I walked into the shop and then the second time also. Awful, awful, awful. I honestly think that this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in a shop. You shouldn't be customer facing if you don't care about your customers.The way you deal with customers matters. Had it been the other lady who dealt with me from the minute I walked in the door the first time (who had empathy and apologised about the refund as soon as she started to intervene) then I wouldn't be writing this review. A very small shop with a limited but good quality selection of footwear for men, women and children. Very pleasant and helpful staff. This is one of the few places where I can get half sizes and wider fittings. They did not have the shoes I wanted in my size, but the assistant was more than happy to order a pair for me and they arrived within a couple of days. They were such a good fit that I ordered another pair in the same style. Quite an expensive shop but if you're looking for quality and comfort it's certainly worth a visit.

So I have just taken my very excited daughter into this shop to buy a new pair of shoes.I wasn?t greeted by any staff members on arrival.There was a lady dealing with another customer and one sat at the desk.I browsed the shoes - the kind family moved so that we could take a closer look.The staff member came out with shoes for the other family and commented that the family had moved seats.The kind dad made the point that I was just wanting to browse the shoes to which she abruptly replied to me with ?oh what are you wanting??I answered that I was looking to get my daughters feet measured and buy new shoes. Without a word the staff member from behind the desk appeared with the foot measurer. She then said to my 3 year old ?move forward?No other exchanges were made until she had measured her feet.I said she loves these unicorn boots. No word from the lady. Just scrolling through her iPad.?We only have school shoes in her size?I left the shop feeling very underwhelmedAwful service from both staff members. Very rude!I will never bring my custom to your door again.
