Booked a table for 4 as my parents were visiting from Australia. The service was good, everyone was very polite and helpful. It was a busy Saturday night but we never had to wait for service. The food was excellent, we all enjoyed our meals (and the wine) and would happily return.

We?ve been to eat at this restaurant before and it was lovely. However, not great on Sunday. We both had Sunday lunches, roast beef with a side of cauliflower cheese.
We had to ask for steak knives to cut the beef it was so tough, but sadly also tasteless. The ?cauliflower cheese? arrived and whilst it was a good portion, it looked like cauliflower sat in a little milk that had been roasted on top. The cauliflower was hard (even too crunchy for al dente), and we could not taste any cheese. The ?sauce? had the consistency of milk too.
When the waitress came to take our plates, we asked for the beef (around five slices) to be put in foil for our dogs, and told her the cauliflower cheese was awful. She could see only one small floret had been taken. She said she would let the chef know.
No mention of why there was so much beef and food left on our plates.
We were charged full price for everything with no concession for the cauliflower cheese, we paid and walked out.
We won?t be returning sadly.
The pub will say they had a musician and bbq in the beer garden so it wasn?t a normal Sunday. If this is the case, don?t serve below par Sunday lunches then! We weren?t the only diners eating in the restaurant and we heard the table behind us ask for steak knives for the beef as we left, so this wasn?t just our experience either.

We recently came for a meal, and everything was exceptional. The menu is very good and the execution also very good. Being seafood lovers we had crab pate and cheese souffle to start, which was delicious. We would have loved the shared seafood buffet but alas it needed pre-ordered, so we had haddock with a cheese crumb. Again, the fish is locally sourced and good, fresh quality. The pub is dog friendly and our spaniel was warmly welcomed. I wish I had taken names because everyone was so good, from the young man on the bar when we came in, and the man and girls taking and bringing our order. The pub has a warm feeling, it was clean and had a lovely buzz about it. No doubts but we will be back again when next in the area. And maybe be able to get the seafood buffet this time. Very highly recommended.

Only visited for a quick bite to eat. Lovely food, service was good and excellent location in a quiet little village. Well worth a visit if near by and needing food.

Beautiful place for eating, this is probably our 2nd time here. The interior is clean and modern but with a touch of countryside feeling. Service is fast, friendly and professional on our visit, very welcoming.
The highlight is the food, everything just leaves your mouth watering for more. I would highly recommend the Devilled Chicken Livers, very tender, full of creamy flavour and light on the stomach. You're probably thinking (I don't like liver or kidney), this dish will not disappoint those who are not fond on liver. The broccoli and watercress soup was also very nice, thick puree style soup full of flavour.
If you're coming here to eat and the weather is warm and sunny, I would recommend eating outside at the back of the venue to enjoy the beautiful English countryside views and peaceful backdrop away from the main road. In the winter the nicely furnished tables within near the fireplace is also a romantic treat.

Excellent service by the bar staff on arrival with a swift and friendly procedure with Leo who showed us to our room with no fuss but very knowledgable about the pub and the area.
The room (number2)was spacious, comfortable and spotless clean with all the usual extras that make it feel like home.
Bathroom spotless with an excellent shower over a bath.
Breakfast was smashing tasty and hot and more than sufficient.
All in all a very enjoyable weekend and we'll be back

Enjoyed an excellent meal on the one-night seafood stay... blessed with good weather we sat in the garden overlooking gorgeous countryside to tuck into a supper whose quantity was matched by its quality. Each member of staff we encountered was friendly and helpful and it all added up to make it a memorable occasion - and excellent value for money. This was our second stay, and won't be our last!
