Fantastic food as always, never had a bad meal here. Always outstanding food, drinks and service from all staff. Fantastic value for money. Best place for food in Leyland and seems to improve every time we visit. The head chef clearly knows how to run a successful kitchen and the landlord clearly knows how to run a successful pub.

Came here to celebrate a 70 birthday
I had steak chips the steak was cooked perfect the meal was great at the price,s was good

I've eaten at the Stag a few times. The pizzas are excellent, the hunters chicken is fantastic, unfortunately last week I had the Sunday roast. We ordered Roast chicken, and were given grilled chicken by the staff on top or roast potatoes and pretty tasteless microwaved vegetables. It was a pricy meal, £15 a head and honestly, they should have been upfront about what they were serving if they had run out of roast chicken. As it is, it was a poor meal, even though we have had good experiences previously, now I'm not sure if we will go back.

I?ve been numerous times and cannot fault the food at all. I tried the Carbonara today that was on the specials and I?m in love. The best Carbonara I?ve ever had. Please add it to the main menu!!!!!

Unfriendly towards younger adults, bad atmosphere, aggressive staff. Refused service.
The Worst pub Iv visited. It was very quiet in there for new years. the atmosphere was weird, the music was low , and it was overall very bland. I felt like I had to speak quietly, it was quite uncomfortable. Me and my friends sat down for about a minute, the manager asked for our IDs. I showed him mine first he looked at it and asked us to leave and we don?t know why. I?m 22, we were not rowdy and it?s a real ID. Honestly I didn?t mind being kicked out, I wanted to leave anyway. But some of my friends asked why and the manager got in my friends personal space and was being aggressive towards her, when she asked him to move away he didn?t. the woman behind the bar started shouting ?bye!? Repeatably. Very strange. I wouldn?t recommend this pub for younger adults, the staff are very unfriendly. The pub across the road from it is much better. ?

Me and my mates thought we would go in here for a drink as we was waiting for a taxi and it was lashing it down on new years eve. Was fairly quiet for new years eve witch was strange but we soon found out why. Sat down and was immediately confronted by one of the seven dwarfs. Soon found out it was grumpy. He asked us all to get out for no reason and then when asked why, gave the response that he doesn't need to give a reason. He then got confrontational with my partner who is a 4'11 girl who started to feel very threatened by the man. Strange how he was only confrontational with her and not with any of the lads. Tosser We left but will not be coming back. Asked around at the pub across the road witch was packed by the way and was told no one goes in there for similar reasons.

Absolutely disgusting place to visit. A group of my friends entered the pub and sat down. After a few mins the a worker came over and asked for our id?s. We all obliged and prepared to hand over our id?s, after only checking one he abruptly said ?all of you leave?. We contested this decision and asked for a reason on why we were asked to leave the pub. The member of staff said he does not need to tell us and would not give any indication of why we should leave. This was quite a shocking experience, especially on New Year?s Eve. Would not recommend entering if your are young as it seems there is some discrimination going on. 0/10, was dead anyway.

Absolutely awful place. Was not allowed service by the manager and was not given a reason for this. I politely asked for a reason and was told ?I am not in any authority to give you a reason for this? and while getting extremely close into my personal space as a clearly young 20 year old woman where I told him this intimidated me, where he did not move. If the manager could have a reasonable reason to refuse our service then it would be fair enough but we did not have any reason and got abuse when asking why we was being asked to leave. For reference we all only sat down and looked at the menu, where we were asked to see our IDs and all 20+ where then we were asked to be removed. Disgusting.

The food and the service was great. Meet the manager and he was very friendly and helpful. The place was pretty busy and not very big so suggest you book in when you can!

Fine beers and great food, what more can you ask! Steak and chicken fajitas was excellent and the portion size was more than generous.
