I love this bookstore, it has a lot of books for all sorts of topics and the upstairs floor also offers a nice quiet space to read. After the other Waterstones close to the train station closed, it's the only large bookstore in the town

As a first time author I went into Waterstones in Lancaster to order my book because I had not received my own copy from the publishers, I told the manager that I was the author of the book that I was ordering and she totally dismissed it. When I returned to the shop to collect the copy of my book I was treated with the same lack of respect which was really disappointing!

Took my teenage daughter in today to use her debit card for the 1st time. The lady serving was very impatient, despite there being nobody waiting. She made my daughter feel anxious tutting and rolling her eyes. Think it may be time for this lady to retire.
