no good will to their customers!! grabbed onto another month's payment like their life depended on it. Despite my son emailing and having dialogue explaining his case at the start of March and cancelling they took a payment in April because he'd given 28 days written notice not 30. All they keep saying is that he needs to prove he emailed in February, the opening line of his 1st email was to explain the email hadn't sent and he was too busy with his new job and hadn't noticed because he's busy training.
I totally accept they have a contract and that it's enforceable however that's what calls for a little human decency! I believe these Gyms are a franchise, so they are hiding behind corporate rules (despite the fact you can't deal with snap fitness directly) rather than saying it's my business and I just don't want to give you the money back. The response I will get to this is, we've been helpful, we have a contract, you didn't adhere to the 30 days blah blah blah.
*He thought he emailed mid Feb (so didn't use the gym after)
*£50 taken in March, he emailed to explain was hoping for a refund but understood totally his fault and put his hands up and paid.
* another £50 taken the April, emailed again to be told he hadn't given the full 30 days he'd given 28 so contract contract contract!
so my son has now paid £100 for a gym in a city he no longer lives in. I'm not saying Snap Fitness is legally wrong they are absolutely not, but very harsh with no sort of human decency or goodwill.
I'd think very carefully before joining because if you lost your income or fell Ill this lot wouldn't give a toss that that £50 could be all you've got to feed yourself, because they have a contract after all.
If he'd used the facilities I'd totally understand but as it stands he's paid a month and a half willingly as he honours that it's not Snap fitness at fault. so that's £75 they've made and he's not stepped foot in the place. So gripping for dear life to the Aprils payment is just because they can. Had they just said look, please note you're a few days short in writing so we're not legally obligated to refund but because we're not totally devoid of human decency we'll refund the last payment, they would look much more reasonable.
As I say I'll undoubtedly get a response, staring policies and contracts, when in reality there is actually nothing stopping them refunding the last payment. I think if I got the response 'we aren't refunding, because we don't want to and we legally don't have to' I'd actually respect them more because at least it's honest.

Absolute parasites!! My son joined the Army, thought he'd emailed to cancel but it turned out the email hadn't sent due to poor WiFi at the ATC and because he's so busy he hadn't noticed. He totally took it on the chin and paid, sent an email to see if there was any good will but absolutely not!!!. He then had another payment taken on the 2nd April, he emailed with copies of the original emails and was told that unless he had proof he'd cancelled before March (which he'd openly said was a mistake on his behalf) then he had only given 28 days notice. They 100% know they've got him,but wow !!. They can clearly see he hasn't used the gym and he's explained and been really open. In the current climate I'd think very very carefully before joining because clearly if you have a change in circumstances they won't give an inch. My son has now paid £100 for a gym in a city he hasn't stepped foot in for months. You can't contact snap fitness directly, you can only deal with the Money Grabbing scum bag franchise owner that frankly I think wouldnt offer any good will if you dropped dead on a treadmill because you hadn't given 30 days notice. Yes a contract is a contract but when did human decency dry up so badly, this is absolutely in the franchise owners control. There are many gyms in Lancaster some of which aren't run by Monty Burns from the Simpsons. I would suggest you think very carefully before signing up to Snap Fitness Lancaster. ???? Then you get a response basically outlining exactly what you said in your review, and they justify their total lack of goodwill or customer care by saying WE HAD A CONTRACT, of course you had a contract, hence why if you'd helped it would show some basic human decency, because of not and you cancelled as as per that contract, that's just the law !!

Big gym and seems to be well equipped. Can get really busy in the evenings.
Big downside is the don't issue day passes.

Wayyy too crowded. Only time when it?s not is after 10 pm or early early morning. Other than that there?s already 2 people before you to use a machine. You?re lucky if you?d even find a bench between 5 pm - 10 pm. Overbooked, overcrowded.

Okay gym but ridiculous policy on charging you an extra month if you cancel, and you have to email them for the form to do so. Other gyms don't do this !

overcrowded gym that has too many members for its size, joined so I could train in the evenings after work but way too many 'members' there are no staff on duty in the evening to check if the people attending are actually members. Near impossible to work out due to the amount of people hanging around, posing in mirrors but rarely actually using the equipment just using it as a place to hang out with there mates in the evening. cancelled my membership after 1 month. If you want a gym to TRAIN in go somewhere else

It?s an okay gym. Very small for the price. I mean it is roughly around £40 a month for a very small space, with limited machines. However there are no other 24hr gyms in Lancaster so it has to do? staff is friendly, no complaints there. The only issue is the size of it and the machines available, and the price as a result of this.

A modern gym that caters to any fitness need and at your convenience. Some of the features I love:* Open 24/7* modern equipment and well stocked gym* fitness trainers available for group or one to one training

I am ending my contract due to health and other reasons. the temperature in the gym is less than 18 degrees, although according to health regulations the temperature in the gym should be at least 21 degrees Celsius. I get sick often. I constantly had a cold in my neck and the last few times I had a fever. Because I sweat and do active exercises, colds appear the next day. there is no place where you can exercise without air conditioning. very dirty toilets, everything is constantly wet and very dirty. There aren?t even benches where you can sit down to change your shoes, and the toilet stall often doesn?t have a lid. The unsanitary conditions are terrible. the mats are all dirty, the boxing gloves stink of sweat. Often there is no person at the reception when any questions arise. this is the most important thing in my opinion. The security in this hall is questionable, I was robbed of £200 in it. the manager tried to help, but everything was to no avail and without compensation. So take care of your things! especially money or keys.Still a terrible cancellation procedure, I don?t understand why I have to pay for another month if I don?t go to this gym anymore. I do not recommend signing a membership with this gym

Been a member for a few years. Brilliant staff, always on hand to help. Not tied down to long term contracts. Friendly atmosphere. All equipment I need is there

Price does not match quality and quantity of equipment. Gym is far too small, making it very inconvenient if you want to workout during the day or peak hours as you'll just be waiting for equipment most of the time. No sauna either. 3 stars for being open 24/7.
