Great selection of equipment in stock and everything available to order. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lewis and Isaac sorted us right out, informing us of all the discount and deals on at the time. They will also enjoy unboxing items and explaining the function.

I went in to look at walking boots and left with a great pair plus 2 pairs of walking socks, very happy with the shopping experience.

Well stocked outdoor shop in centre of Lancaster. Plenty of walking & outdoor wear including footwear with a range of branded/unbranded goods, all packed into a relatively small shop. Friendly staff willing to help. Disabled parking outside

I recently made a big purchase at GO Outdoors, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. The staff was incredibly helpful in guiding me toward the best products for my needs. Review for Ultimate Outdoors! Not Blacks. Have they taken over the business?
Anyway I wrote:
As you will see I rarely give negative reviews as encouraging very good business folk staff working hard is much the thing.
However I was disgusted & absolutely believe correctly so at what I found here , calling in to see if they had any good light raincoat offers at their boldly declared 30% off everything. Closing down sale.
Is it really a closing down sale or not ? There is so much stock in the shop & watch out for the crafty sales way. Indeed so much stock hard to get around without getting in the way of other customers.
I was unsure if it was 30% off the knocked down prices or all left unclear in the hope that folk will just go with it, when get to the till, even if it costs more than one thought it would or should be according to what it says on the label s or around the shop snd even advertised directly above eg the belt I was then told on getting to the checkout .
Well I was not even asked by the fellow, -- who seems known to others and indeed might be quite or very helpful and knowledgeable about such gear and quality outdoor wear too from many of the independent major brands : fine, but he needs to keep to the plot and he got it plain wrong on me and it was not nice and how he then as I walked out the door wanted to talk behind my back about me in a disparaging way.
It was a disgusting affair and made worse by the front door to the shop he and his colleagues were somehow content with a pong of urine, as one went in averting the nasal passages: worse than the public loos in down town city centre. What a lack of care.
There was no urine on the path slabs. It must have been and smelt dated urine . How can they not keep front doorway cleaner. Never known, I am sure, a retail door like that.
So I go up to the counter with my £7.99 belt and no question to me : " you know ( sir ) this is belt is a brand not in the sale. Do you? No reduction on this one . Sorry. ".
"That's £7.99 "then ."
And then he starts complaining as some folk do by the words ...very unpleasant way and out of order used....If you will let me explain. He had already done so! It was no defence for it. Nonsense and nasty. He lost the plot and the shop has maybe ?
If it really is a closing down sale, everything must go, they are still more expensive and staff less pleasant kind than Mountain Warehouse a great business I think ..who has won me over by the customer service care over the years. Often notably kind and helpful I have found and towards our dear late dear 80+ year old rather more frail mother , the youngish man staff in Bristol was really great! Mountain Warehouse.

More so check the labels give approx(!!?) 30% off Even then the prices seem clearly over Mountain Warehouse. Hardly closing down sale bargains.
So the Law & selling and the limits to keep within ? :
Businesses must be careful not to misrepresent to get sales.
And ...
At such prices that will take a long time and staff & not appreciating the disgust then of such as I facts knew!! How they try to work such .
It's not 30% off everything on the stands it says it is. All notably subtle.
And Lancaster can do better am sure!!?. Lovely atmosphere and friendly locals about on a Sunday as a whole.
I trust there will be no revenge on me for such a review of such a (truly!?) upsetting experience.
I wish them the best. But some of us have enough of such subtle selling. & are illegal too maybe?: Trades Description Act?
These are tough days. And they can do better and not blame customers then !!

Disgraceful company not even the decency to reply to their own web form or my 2 emails they sold me a faulty product and I had to get pay pal involved to get a refund

Very sad to see that another independent shop in Lancaster is closing but I'm not surprised. I stopped going a few years ago when the lady that was supposed to be helping me, was so rude and really couldn't be bothered; I left and went elsewhere.
