My problem has been going on years and not one doctor has bothered to help me, I have to resort to looking online to try and find answers for myself and when I discuss my concerns with the doctors they look at me like I'm stupid. Written complaint is going in regarding a certain doctor who spoke to me like I was something she stood in, when I asked for more painkillers she gave me something completely different.

Rang in the morning for an appointment for annual contraceptive pills for jan/feb next year. Normally I ring in jan every year and they never have any appointments until months ahead therefore I run out of pills and always have to get an emergency prescription for them. This year I thought I would be organised and ring before the new year and get a better chance of having an appointment earlier on in the year. I couldnâ??t get through in the morning so I rang after half 12 on my dinner break as the answerphone message advised. I was on hold for 15 minutes then a further 5 while the receptionist looked for an appointment for next year to be told (baring in mind there is only 14 days left of this year) that there is no appointments on the computer system for next year yet. Iâ??m not sure what computer system is used but I have worked in several dental practices and the systems used there allowed us to book appointments upto a year in advance. So now I will have to wait until January again and they may be booked up by then.

This place is a joke, I've taken inhalers for 28yrs out of 30. They think they can change or cancel them at a moment's notice and I'll just be ok!! It doesn't matter that I suffer from panic attacks or that I work outside and can't afford to let my inhalers run out!!!

Normally excellent and no issues. However, I suffered searing pain ripping through my leg which incapacitated me and which, I am assuming, is as a result of arthritis of the spine. It flared up unexpectedly and I didn't know what to do. I was afraid. So instead of ringing up to make a normal doctors appointment, I chose the 2nd answer phone option for emergency care. I didn't know what to expect as I've never pressed that option before. The lady who dealt with my call asked me for details about my pain. I explained that it was excruciating agony ripping down my leg from my spine and that I was unable to sleep, walk or get to the bathroom or look after myself in any way. She told me that she was making a doctors appointment for me which would be 2 days later. That night by 3 am in the morning I couldn't take the pain anymore and then my leg went into spasms of pain that ripped like a knife through my body. The pain made me scream out loud frightening the dogs to death. I rang the NHS Doctor on Call where I was given some pain killers that gave me almost immediate relief. These will keep me going until the doctors appointment. To cut a long story short, if you ring an emergency care line with a pain problem that incapacitates you totally and is making you scream out loud (I just couldn't help it, it was so bad), then you need immediate help and I should have been offered pain relief there and then. That kind of care wasn't available and this morning I'm upset and angry in particular with the attitude of the person who dealt with my phone call. I rang the emergency care line at Coastal (Bay) medical group with a genuine and intense pain problem. But I felt that I was being thought of as a time waster (I'm sure there must be many of those) but staff must be trained to be sympathetic towards those people who genuinely have problems and who would never ring an emergency line unless they really felt they needed to.
