Just popped in for a drink and ended up having a Sandwich too. Lovely pub and Sandwich was delicious and generous filling. Would recommend.

hadn't booked but found us a table, we both ordered fish & chips which were fabulous, freshly cooked with chips to die for. proper home cooked chips, with crispy bits. nom. staff were lovely, attentive but not in your face. nothing was too much trouble. definitely going back very soon. gem of a place.
oh and the cherry on the icing on the cake - it's on the canalside so thirty second walk to car park revealed ducks swimming in canal, nothing makes me smile more than seeing some ducks.

Great food, really top quality however poor service. Waiting until the end of the meal for our drinks and specified fries. Only to recieve thick cut chips again post meal. Nice position outside by the canal. Just non attentive staff unfortunately ?. Could do better

Lovely pub, canal side location,
Cheese garlic bread was lovely and really soft and tasty.
Kids pizza was lovely seemed homemade my little ones enjoyed it.
The pie was lovely too, the meat was soft and tender.

Nice pub and a good location too, with the river right out back. Food was lovely and service was good. We had a lot of people on our table so they coped well!

Sadly we arrived tonight at 7:46 and were turned away for food. I didn?t know they stopped serving at 7:45 says 9 online. We were a party of 3. Sad really as we were celebrating a happy time.

Excellent food and lovely atmosphere! The staff were really friendly and attentive, regularly checking in to make sure everything was okay. We had starters, mains, and desserts ? all were very tasty and well presented. The only downside was the pie ? the crust was extremely hard all the way around and unfortunately not edible. Aside from that, everything else was great and we?d definitely come back!

The staff in here should be given an award for there polite happy friendly style.
We have had a difficult time and the staff here gave us faith in humanity.
There are so many names I could mention but every single one has a lovely smile and such a courteous nature.
Whoever owns this pub congratulations for employing such good people.
Food excellent drink excellent hospitality excellent no more that can be said.

Was 6 of us 20 mins to 5pm. Have you booked ? Nope (everytable empty). Sorry we not serving till 5pm She could of sat us down anyway by time we get drinks and about to order it would of been 5.
Above was 2 years ago.
I am adding to this as experience of the other day was exactly the same as above this time there was only three of us. Ended up going miller and carter instead. Woman was ok with us. Some skinny lad has bad attitude then I seen him walking 2 dogs as we was leaving.

Finally managed to get in here service was good bit slow food was nice atmosphere was good. Wish every visit was like this

The whole experience was just perfect for a slow Thursday afternoon on the hottest day of the year (so far!) - right by the canal, great food and wine, lovely genuine service. Everything a local British pub should be - we will definitely be back!

Just been for birthday lunch and was fabulous.
Staff very welcoming and friendly and the food was exceptional. Piri Piri chicken with corn on the cob fantastic and the salmon with crayfish salad was amazing. One course was more than enough for us , will definitely be back and would recommend a visit to the Saracen?s to everyone.
